[i]Just in case this is super old news, which is possible as I've just stumbled onto Bnet since this Destiny ARG has started, I tried searching for this information first, but couldn't find anything that discussed this already being found. Plus, on Misriah Solutions, it is stated as being unknown.[/i]
Anywho, don't jump on me if it's common knowledge, but Alpha Lupi's unique avatar is the mathematical symbol for Fourier transform pairs. It is essentailly like "=", but it means "_____ is the Fourier transform pair of _____." Thought I'd share that in case it wasn't known. Based on the fact that the transform has been used to clear up these pictures, it probably is known, but who knows.
Fun fact: A simple [url=https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&site=imghp&tbm=isch&source=hp&biw=1440&bih=799&q=fourier+transform+symbol&oq=fourier+transform+symbol&gs_l=img.3..0i24l6.680.3076.0.3275.24.12.0.11.11.0.149.958.8j4.12.0...0.0...1ac.1.2.img.zUh-6aypEnA]google images search[/url] turns up a result that looks spot on to the avatar, and may be what was used to produce the symbol in the avatar's making.

Great finding OP, knowing Bungie the avatar and the account name are all interconnected with the title of the thread and the 7 days left. Bungie is giving us all the tools to solve this mistery all we have to do is open our eyes.

I think Fourier transforms are being used to decipher the ARG images. But I'm a noob at such things so I will watch from the sidelines :)

Good find and more than likely the exact reference. Though I can't shake the notion of it also being connected to Force and equivalency as well based on the thread title. It could be connected to both, or meant to point us toward both. I only say this after seeing just how many things seem interconnected (Lupi is a city in the Phillipines, its a star called the Imerpial Guard, its part of the Azure Dragon which is the Guardian of a city, etc.)

Even though I think my reasoning makes sense, I can't deny the symbol used [url=http://www.thefouriertransform.com/pairs/fourier.php]here[/url] is pretty much equal to the one used in Lupi's avatar.
