Same map, same enemy, same boss, just a tormented added into a 10 year old strike that is now a nightfall. Enjoy the DLC. This development team SUCKS!!

Edited by Sturm with no Drang: 3/25/2023 1:40:14 AMThe new old more like it. I just find it disheartening that they can’t even bother beyond the literal bare minimum of actually updating Seasonal content and expansion drops. When did the expectations from players drop so low that they decided they would settle with newly added roadblocks to count as “updates”? Were this to happen back around Vanilla/CoO, the whole of the forums and social media would light up like a spasming Christmas tree.

3 RepliesThis guy gets it. Why aren't more people pointing out that Bungie added even less content to the vanguard ops playlist than any other expansion with Lightfall & the majority of the "new" content in the vanguard ops is either re-skinned D2 vanilla strikes or seasonal activities
-
3 RepliesThey did a better job when the Strikes from D1 were redone.
-
2 RepliesI like that they have updated the strikes, but maybe they should have put a different boss. There is literally a line spoken by Devrim that goes "I thought you killed him, but he seems.. to... have come back somehow!?" Made me laugh, but its kinda sad.
-
Edited by LocoToopa: 3/22/2023 1:54:29 PMIt's not new at all. One of the first missions of house of wolves in D1 y1 was an existing mission from vanilla/DB, but just in reverse! I'm sure there are other examples within the entire 8/9 year franchise. It doesn't bother me personally, but reusing content is certainly not a new concept.

Same map, same enemy, same boss, just a tormented added into a 10 year old strike that is now a nightfall. Enjoy the DLC. This development team SUCKS!!
It's not all the devs fault, but it was expected knowing this business is just cash grabbing.

1 ReplyUnreal. People are actually defending playing the same strikes with some “updates.” The bar gets lower by the day & Bungie is probably ROFL in their meetings.
-
11 RepliesThe number of people trying to defend Bungie is sickening. Sheeple everywhere.
-
The biggest upset for me with the rework they gave to the Arms Dealer strike is the fact that there’s no more dialogue from Nathan Fillion’s Cayde-6 in it. So that only leaves Exodus Crash to have the last remaining voice lines of Nathan Fillion’s Cayde-6 in the game. Even that strike is going to get a rework down the line.
-
23 RepliesLet me guess, you're mad you cannot speedrun the strike in 5 minutes and one shot the boss anymore lmao
-
I like it, feels fresh. If this is the new low than keep it coming
-
1 ReplyI think the best thing about all the new and reworked material is how, without warning, 10 mobs have spawned right in back of you.
-
The whole “development” team needs to be frog marched out into the street. Utter incompetence
-
18 RepliesAn old strike we've done a billion times getting an update instead of being ignored is a new low? Are you sane?
-
No more Cayde.

Edited by Tru-Zrue: 3/22/2023 1:45:31 PMHonestly don’t care for the reworked strikes. Won’t speak for you guys but I hate damage phased boss. If players get to the point where they can melt bosses why not let them have that? Why not let us feel powerful considering a lot of us have run those strikes hundreds of not thousands of times? It just annoys me the turn the game seems to be taking where change was not needed. New strikes would have been better, optional difficulties for patrols and strikes would have been amazing. They seem like they thought about the idea in d1, and completely missed the mark in d2 at almost (almost) every turn.
-
I like that I have to actually run the strike now, but the mini boss Tormentors have too much health in this game.
-
It really doesn’t bother me, honestly. I’d rather this than no changes at all. A bunch of new strikes every expansion would be nice but is an unrealistic expectation. I wish they’d redo all strikes to make them feel more relevant to the current state of the universe. I’d rather run this than a strike from 5 years ago with dialogue from a dead NPC as part of story that is well beyond over already.
-
5 RepliesFor what it’s worth, it’s a better strike now
-
2 RepliesFor me the low is going to Zavala and having engrams to buy a weapon and it tells me it's (hung jury) not unlocked in collections despite the fact I have one currently on that character. I've had this gun in D1 & D2 but somehow I still need to grind it a 3rd time, wtf was I thinking buying Lightfall?
-
The deluxe edition of this game should’ve been regular price the pvp rewards useless an the strike legacy focusing has value battlegrounds is just battlegrounds.
-
Edited by Born_SLIPPY: 3/23/2023 10:14:08 AMNah, its actually more fun to have it changed up. I guess it suffers mainly because of the new difficulty levels with overpowered bullet sponges everywhere in confined areas. However once you learn the ads spawn patterns that should get easier. Just a shame they removed power levelling, growing your light to vanquish the enemies kinda felt like the point of the game after all!
-
Lol it was nice change that strike was stale.
-
😂😂😂😂😂
-
You are right This is a new low even for you
-
They did this back during Taken King in D1 dude. This isn't the first time they've revamped existing strikes. Same location yeah but a face-lift to bring it on par with the difficulty level of current material was needed for some of the vanilla material. I'd rather play an updated version of Lake of Shadows and Arms dealer than run the same strikes unchanged for another year.
