As somebody who enjoys pvp in Destiny 2, I feel like Bungie does not care about it. First of all, the main problem (which I’m sure you can all agree with me on) is the lack of maps. Destiny 2 has lots of maps, I will say but it’s not enough maps. Bungie has added a new map (Disjunction) but in my opinion, I really do not like the map itself. Before disjunction we had no new maps except for obviously Vostok and Eternity which are not new maps. (recycled) I also do not really like those two either. The other problem is the fact that Bungie adds these broken -blam!- weapons and abilities to the game and take too long to nerf them or do not nerf them enough. For example, shadderdive was extremely broken, I’m sure we can all agree. Bungie nerfed it about a month or two after it became broken but did not nerf it enough and it kept on being broken. After that nerf, shadderdive was still just as broken and was becoming a problem in Pvp. It’s not until like 6 or more months later it was eventually nerfed to the ground.
Now to be honest, I love pvp, more then pve. I just HATE about how much Bungie stays away from it and focuses more on pve. I do like that they focus on pve because it gives more stuff to do in the pve side of things. But, where have the pvp charges been? There’s obviously nothing we can do though, it’s not our game, it’s Bungies. The only thing we can do is suggest ideas to them.

It's -blam!-. IB rework should have taken a back seat to actually making regular PvP worth playing. -blam!- matchmaking and lobby balancing, -blam!- choices for game modes. -blam!- competitive PvP. One permanent game mode that has overstayed its welcome and a rotating playlist that's ignored unless it's Clash or Mayhem. Trials and IB reworks and changes don't mean -blam!- without updating the parts of Crucible that are actually played the most.

It’s not that shatterdive wasn’t nerfed enough but rather that they introduced a new aspect that made it to where said nerf didn’t mather (they decreased the radius and damage of each crystal but than doubled the amount of crystals). Bungie always does this, they introduce something broken and then take too long to nerf it only to then add another broken thing.

Streamers and sweats are the reason it is the way its turned.

when people start saying stasis meta was better you know something has gone horribly wrong 💀

That’s simply because PvP doesn’t put bread on Bungie’s table. It’s the PvE stuff they actually care about because that’s the crap we pay for, PvP to Bungie is nothing but sesame seeds on the top of a burger bun for the Destiny Sandwich.

14 RepliesI think they did sbmm in trials this weekend. Grenader Jake looked average in the games I watched him play. He was not happy at all, it was an ego check for him.

1 ReplyThe main problem with crucible is… the community This community is the cheesiest bunch I’ve ever seen. 90% of the players are terrible, and the “good” players have to crutch any cheese they can to get a kill. It’s so bad. The meta doesn’t matter bc the players are booty
First of all, the main problem (which I’m sure you can all agree with me on) is the lack of maps.
Nope. Hard disagree. The main problem with crucible right now is the absolutely terrible matchmaking. Lack of map variety never made me basically stop doing Crucible, and Destiny 2 (I'm a PvP main) as a consequence. This dog--blam!- matchmaking did. I've gilded my Unbroken, and I'll get the Iron Banner seal but that's it. I used to get around 8-10 crucible resets in a season, I've gotten 2 this season. -blam!- playing crucible with this trash -blam!- matchmaking.

2 RepliesMy issue is that with mainly trials, there are too many one shot weapons that take very little skill and have very little counterplay. Snipers and fusion rifles seem to never reallty flinch and even while taking damage and moving full speed, snipers still get perfect headshots. In a gamemode that should be about skill, it just boils do to one button press for a alot of weapons.

Edited by mayo68: 7/4/2022 10:01:43 AM“Craft building” (that’s what the cool kids call it) is more emphasized in the new 3.0 subclasses. This is awesome in pve…not so much in pvp. Overshields, Artifact mods make for what I like to call “world class cheese builds” that will defeat a player regardless of skill level. Give these abilities to a good/great pvp player, and they become almost unstoppable. Bottom line…healing/Overshield abilities should be toned down for the better of the game. Just my .02

Without dedicated servers, PvP will never be good. No matter what matchmaking system they add, the problems in PvP will remain the same.

Forget PvP in Destiny. It’s not supposed to be balanced.
suck a ghost
One shot melees are great it’s awesome getting boomeranged by a throwing knife and shoulder charged killed in super, and that warlock has none of them. I also love that I can’t jump and shoot. Also obershields are great love playing against a team of bubble titans with max intellect on zone trials.

3 RepliesClassy restoration is great. I love trying to kill the same guardian 3 times.

They don’t even have to add new maps, just bring back all of the ones from Destiny 1 ESPECIALLY the massive ones, those would be great for 6vs6 since it feels like we only have like four large maps
