Who ever at bungie is a monster hunter fan
Needs a raise cause the hunts are fun and actually have REASON to do them unlike MH. It’s basically the same mechanics but simpler which I’m perfectly happy with!!!

1 ReplyI tried to get into monster hunter, I really Don’t see the appeal to that game. The monsters you hunt take so long to kill, they are literally sponges, you spend more time going after these creatures than actually fighting them. The weapons are ridiculously bigger than your own character which is just weird to me. The one thing I give them credit for is the armor, the armors on monster hunter looks amazing and really cool but the gameplay is so boring. To each their own I guess

2 RepliesI mean, if MH ain't your cup of tea that's fine. You just don't enjoy that kind of game I guess. No need to say there was no reason to...hunt. That's only 100% of the game. Lol As someone who loves that series and dark souls, I appreciate the hunts this season. Some contextual goo to follow, a simple but easily punishing mechanic to kill the target, not too bad. A bit of on-the-spot learning like some other games ask for. I wish I could get full court on one of those new grenade launchers though. Didn't see it in the perk pools. :(

4 RepliesNo way you can compare mhw to destiny. The hunts in mhw I feel more rewarded for my time then in destiny. Mhw you know if you want a certain longsword you hunt that certain monster. Then you craft that longsword. When you beat fatalis in mhw you feel you have accomplished something. D2 is just a unrewarding grind.

I very much disagree with you there, although I don't know how far in you got. I was still fighting some of the endgame monsters plenty of times even after crafting their equipment(some of which are pretty much gamebreaking) for no reason other than they're enjoyable. And that's not even counting the extra hunts done for Layered Armor and Weapons. But I guess it's as the saying goes... [spoiler][b]Different strokes for different folks.[/b][/spoiler]

I just kinda wish the guns were more interesting, personally. Or at the very least had a gimmick like Warmind Cells. They just seem kinda interesting to me, personally. The last two seasons weapons were excellent but this season/expansion fell kinda flat. This, of course, is not accounting for the raid weapons which look to be God tier stuff. I will stay some of the new perks are nice. Thresh, wellspring, and chain reaction are pretty cool.

My first reaction to Beyond Light as I was playing it was "Oh, it's Destiny 2: Iceborne," and little did I know how close that was. That's not a dig either- Iceborne was a gold standard for expansions IMO.

2 RepliesLol- if they could learn how the loot works in MHW and the other titles, people would be grinding more and playing more. The loot in MHW is rewarding cause they aren't sunset once you're at Master Rank. If they want a meta change- all one has to do is switch around gear and fight the new content with it. In D2 we have to grind for months to get the gear perfect to our style only for it to be sunset in excuse to change the meta. (When in reality it is to keep you coming back.) My gear n guns meant nothing in D2. My time meant nothing. They could learn more from MHW. Especially with the challenging content it has along with its reward system. (Yes I beat Fatalis and solo'd it a couple times, yes it was rewarding, and YES the gear made me want to replay pretty much the whole game again.)

I'm really glad you enjoy the hunts! But pls don't compare it to monster hunter--it's worlds away from that. But as for myself, I maxed the artefact, it took me about 4 hours to do, and I don't see any reason to do them again, except for the pinnacle/powerfuls

bruh what? mhw is a lot more fun in terms of hunts. That game was one of the best $60 i've ever spent. enjoyed every second of it.
