I’m posting this because I genuinely feel like I’m losing my mind playing comp. I just played a guy that was literally faster than any human being could react to. Like it was obvious this person’s console was receiving data faster than everyone else’s in the lobby.
Now I consider myself a fairly competent player. Before going and murdering my k/d for this Luna’s Howl quest I averaged around a 2.0 eff. But since I have been in comp boy oh boy the shenanigans I have seen.
Hunters have moon bounced and disappeared into orbit on Stomp33s, my shotgun will literally miss someone entirely at point blank range while simultaneously letting them kill me an instant later, my guns have stopped shooting as I’m pulling the trigger mid gunfight, unloaded Trust in faces only to watch them die a full 2 seconds later, the list goes on and on.
I say all that to say this. Bungie I swear to God on everything I love I’m not purchasing another Destiny game after this if it doesn’t have dedicated servers. I can’t... I -blam!-ing can’t do this again. I love this game. I love feeling like a space badass, but after playing Destiny since year one I still have no clue how truly good I am at this game. When I lose I’m not sure if it’s because I’m bad. And when I win I’m not sure it’s because I’m good. An individual’s connection to the host can completely alter a match that much.
I don’t have this problem in other games I know exactly how good I am in Overwatch. I know exactly how bad I am at twitchy shooters like Titanfall. You guys tried to make PvP into Overwatch, but missed because the game will never be taken seriously as an esport without having rock solid connections. Weapon and class balance not withstanding.
I know my little $60 bucks might not move the needle but I’m sure there are countless other players that feel the exact same way.

3 RepliesHonestly, the solution is to leave, play better games and don't come back. I assure you that you won't regret it.
-
1 ReplyYeah, then they can justify charging even more money. A lot of people are convinced Bungie is a charitable company. I'm not so sure.
-
As much as I want dedicated servers, it is highly unlikely that bungie will ever do it with destiny. Destiny 3 will probably be the last of this franchise so they won't blow any more money than they have to. Then they will just move on to whatever their next franchise is going to be. Hopefully they get wise and give us dedicated with whatever they have dreamed up. If not, I probably won't be supporting bungie anymore unless they make a single player game. Unfortunately multiplayer sux big ones with this company since they gave up halo. The best thing they should do is drop activision asap and get some integrity back.
-
D3? Don’t even wanna think about that and restart the game will get followed by updates to bring it back where it..... never mind, hurts my brain thinking about all the drama that will come with that release
-
6 RepliesD2 needed dedicated servers yet we got this upgraded version of p2p being told how great it would be an we all know how that turned out, bungie an activision will more than likely again cut corners an give us trash p2p servers cause they are still making millions without investing.
-
The way things are at the moment if bungie doesn’t sort out the shit there won’t be a D3
-
And that will solve everything? dedicated isnt going to save Destiny
-
9 RepliesThey didn’t even plan to make D3😂😂😂 because they freaking know that NOBODY going to buy it😂😂😂
-
2 RepliesDude... Destiny 2 should have had Dedicated Servers. This is another reason I didn't purchase forsaken.

-
1 ReplyLol. Console players still have no clue what 'dedicated servers' actually are.
-
I just killed a titan who was trying to shoulder charge me. After the.kill I dodged backwards then jumped back. Still was being electrocuted and died. The electricity friggin stuck to me..somehow

And 60fps

4 RepliesDedicated servers would expose Bungees Programming in PVP... Some people think it's cheating by others but it's actually Bungees programming that determines in you win or lose, have a bad game or a good one.... When you play enough games, days in a row you can see the trends and just how bad Bungie has to manipulated things just so you can finish those bounties.. lmfao...

4 RepliesAwwww another crybaby complaining bout something.

7 RepliesEdited by R__i__n__: 10/15/2018 12:41:09 AMBungie should be fired and another developer take their place for destiny 3. I believe a company that actually cares for their consumers can go a long way. Just look at all we’ve invested for what we got !

-
Why? No one's going to buy D3 🤣🤣🤣

Agreed

Omg, yes. Personally I think it's embarrassing that a game from as prestigious of a developer as Bungie and the largest publisher in the world (Activision) doesn't have dedicated servers.
-
Bump. I just made a post avout this. Never have I had a game that has this many problems with servers. It sucks too cause I'm from America and when we play with/against people from anywhere around the globe such as UK, Australia or Germany I have tremendous lag and those people seem to dodge shots and get hits around corners. It sucks cause I wouldn't mind playing with anyone from around the globe as I have friends from thosr exact places I mentioned above.

5 RepliesA good point that falls on deaf ears - Bungie will never take PVP seriously until it's removed from the larger game - yes you heard me - PVP is basically an add-on, a side-bar - until it becomes it's own thing it will always ship with bugs, issues, and never have dedicated servers...I have been saying for years that Bungie should break out PVP into it's own game - dedicated servers, tons of maps, multiple classes (build their own brand of Overwatch) - but it will never happen...PVP is not enough of a priority to even ship properly with working updates (the new hyped up comp game mode was released and then removed! LOL). It's a total joke in it's current state. Why would they care to give it dedicated servers when they don't even care enough to properly test something before they release it? My advice - take PVP for what it is - a joke mode that will never work they way it should...
-
5 RepliesHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA........sorry couldn't help myself, but we have been asking for this since early D1 days it sucks but....Its not going to happen. IF the entire community boycotted pvp then MAYBE (but still doubt it) the game would probably just be made Pve only. Dedicated Servers would cost Bungie/Activision a fair amount of money to both setup and maintain not to mention introduce blackout periods while maintenance is performed.
-
If they don't I'm not buying it. As it stands you can't even play pvp because it's so god awful. The team shooting sucks ass and your handling goes to complete shit when you flank... it just sucks. Either you have a second advantage on the opposing team or you are a second behind... neither are fun.

13 RepliesIt may take you a while to get into the swing of things after the speed increase. Honestly I do not think this is a server issue. I am currently at mobility 3 and I can move near that of the old versions 9 and 10's. People were complaining that the game was too slow so they gave them what they asked for. Now a mobility hunter can move as though they are skating on butter, the upside is they are lacking in one of 2 areas. They will either come fast and weak, which means you are will be able to take more than them as they are banking on not getting hit, Or they will come at you fast and tough, this means they have one shot to kill you and if you EVER put them into a position to flee from anyone, have no fear in chasing them down, because their recovery is SHOT. If push comes to kick, I suggest taking a break from this and playing Call Of Duty WWII.... They move around 3 times as fast as Launch Destiny 2 and about .5 faster than the fastest Guardian here. This I can promise. You will speed up your minds reaction time and before you know it, you will be nailing hunter after hunter even while they try to dodge, because you will (SEE) them and be able to predict where they end up, even cloaked. Also, we are likely PLAYING Destiny 3 right now. They just continued it like we asked. There is a reason Forsaken was in the same format of D1 and D2, with passes and the like. They got the message loud and clear. Say thank you. Hahaha!
