Overall Crucible is the best its ever been IMO. Of course there are things that could be ironed out but I have to give credit to how well its balanced overall.

D1 Crucible (in all its states) was streets ahead of anything that D2 brought - even the ‘host’ netcode was more precise D2 hybrid p2p system is appalling! (the exception being 4vs4 - Bungie built D2 Crucible for teamwork/shooting, weapons and tactics for team shooting, maps for CQB & then fvcked it all up by caving into the minority & adding 6v6)

That's what I was going to ask, whether or not the matchmaking/networking was better.
-
Best since launch, perhaps, but definitely not ever.
-
If you call noobs running around and one shifting skilled players with shotguns balanced then you have lost your mind
-
Honestly I had no problems with shotguns or snipers. The problems imo were the counter weapons. Before the mida nerf it could flinch snipers. Shotguns were annoying granted but if you got used to tracking the enemies almost any primary could've stopped them in their tracks. Hand cannons were the best. But then primaries got nerfed. And when they got nerfed it brought the special weapon spam along with shoulder charge and stickies. Bloom became a huge problem with hand cannons. People said tlw was a shotgun stopper but bloom made me hate using it. This was before they got the overdue buff in year 3. I hated when they took special ammo away when you died. I think the main issue with shotguns in d2 is the maps. A lot of them are so advantageous for shotguns you'd be crazy not to use them. So I can't blame the people using them nor the weapons themselves. I blame it on the map design. We need more maps that promote engagements at further ranges.

The shotguns are a little ridiculous. But its a better alternative than when they were in the heavy spot and everyone had to focus on getting heavy ammo. And skilled players tend to get the better connections so they can shotgun from half a mile away.
-
They definitely don’t need to go to heavy slots but if there was additional ammo crates for special ammo then it would make pvp much more balanced and not force some people to rely on only shotguns
-
I can see what you're saying. Especially when it comes to things like snipers. Why is it that the most skillful weapons in the game get the same amount of bullets as the least skillful.
-
Ppl wanted faster ttks so bungie just dumped out all the one shot ammo you could ever want and thought it would be balanced
-
Some players really love their shotguns though. And wanted to be able to shotgun and asked for more shotgun. I even have to use one now because there really is no choice when there are things like the Chaperone in crucible. The only way they can really fix them is to make them so you have to be pressed up against someone to kill them like back in Halo. They have to have almost zero range, otherwise its going to be a shotgun fest from now on.
-
Yea but if range is reduced then they will suffer in pve and cause another outrage. Ammo crates with timers like in d1 are really the best option
-
That makes good sense. I only played D1 for the last 6 or 7 months but I can remember that shotguns weren't as prevalent. Other than that I have no idea why they cant have more range in PvE and less for PvP. I've never understood the focus on keeping weapons balanced between the two modes over balancing weapons for each individually.
-
That’s too much work for bungie.. they would never be able to split weapon stats between different game modes. Shotguns were definitely prevalent in d1 but only a couple ppl had ammo at a certain time and if you died, you didn’t get more ammo for a second chance
-
If only bungie went through our suggestions...
-
You must wasn't around for house of wolves. That was the pennicle of multiplayer, bungie can't get the magic back.
-
I came to D1 right as HoW was coming out so I really didn't know what I was doing enough to say whether it was the best. Should have said "best its ever been in D2."
-
That I Agree.
-
Saying Crucible is the best its ever been is NOT saying much. Lol
