So, I was banned for having Borderlands Commander open. This is a program that allows you to mod Borderlands 2, speed up the game, slow it down, etc.
However, Destiny 2 banned me for it (for presumably having modding software open), even though there is no possible way it could interface with D2. Its functions rely on Borderlands 2/Pre-Sequels in-game console function to even work, and Destiny doesn't use the Unreal Engine so the commands it would execute doesn't do anything. It uses an OpenProcess() call to determine if the Borderlands game is in the foreground, and if it is not then it doesn't do anything. If it is however in the foreground, then it actually does something.
I have read the Borderlands Commander source code, and I myself am a C# developer, and there is no way this can mod/cheat Destiny in any way.
Please reach out to me about this. I've been banned for a week now.

1 ReplyUnfortunately, from what I've seen bungo don't care once theyve banned your account. There's no appeal process and given the forums, they seem a bit trigger happy on the bans for modding. Its pretty terrible you've been banned for something like that but short of tweeting bungie, explaining the situation and hoping they even reply, theres nothing you can do :/

2 RepliesSame I was banned for the same reason. I was also on the other post

5 RepliesThey're banning more people than they can fix. A friend gifted me the Forsaken Legendary collection TWO days ago. I managed to get two days of game time in before I was banned from the game for absolutely no reason. I thought it was my username "iGay" but I even reached out to Blizzard who said there was no cause for a ban based on my name alone. So I don't have a clue why I was axed and Bungie hasn't replied yet.

2 RepliesHaving any cheat based applications on your PC is enough for a ban. They don't need to be running when you play destiny, just installed. Tough but that is their policy

Doesn’t really matter. Bungie said not to have these types of programs open while playing D2, regardless of if it interacts with D2’s files or not.

3 RepliesSame here was banned with it open in the background
