The Bungie Update mentioned ability "tweaks", but it ALSO mentioned the fact that abilities like our grenades and melees should be "rare."
Just to be clear, here is what Josh said. "We want abilities to be slightly more rare, but worth it."
Grenades and abilities won't have the constant uptime of Destiny 1, but you will still get to deal out a lot of Space Magic.
As noted in the TWAB there have already been changes made between the console and PC Beta and we'll continue to monitor feedback post launch.

lol so many people pissed off over slight changes in a video game.
-
IKR! Lol!
-
I think it's a little more then just things that are slightly changed, but that's another story.
-
This just proves the devs idea of "fun" doesn't coincide with your consumers' idea of "fun". Out of touch and in a bubble. I hope it would have been time to step out of this elitism bubble and attempt to understand and connect with the player base a little better. Just listening to everyone and thinking we are all equal in our understanding of the game is not smart nor is it professional.

This guy summed it up in a nutshell. Do urself a favor plungie and listen!

The grenades also suck. They activate poorly. The jumps in D2 are ass. Y'all literally need to just put the old jumps back in. They're fine. The supers are weak af No real point in matching weapon to elemental shields. Yay I can run two hand cannons if I'm stupid enough to. Pop Tarts

Hey! Pop Tarts are delicious. You go too far sir, too far!
-
What's so bad about the jumps? The only jump that changed is titans lift. Double jump and glide are pretty much the same as Destiny 1.

Edited by Mini: 8/13/2017 11:06:16 AMDidn't feel familiar to D1 for me. When I started I did a bunch of movements (weapon switches, melee, grenade, crouch jump) and the jump (just did a double straight up) had me check that I had actually selected Warlock as it made me think I'd mistakenly selected Titan. The movement in general felt incredibly laboured to me. Edit: not that Titan movement in D1 feels laboured, quite the opposite. I was referring to the feel of the D2 solar Warlock jump feeling and sounding like a Titan jump to me, without the fluid movement of D1.
-
Maybe you're right. I didn't notice anything but maybe I wasn't paying enough attention to that.
What's so bad about the jumps? The only jump that changed is titans lift. Double jump and glide are pretty much the same as Destiny 1.
I disagree with you there, sorry.
-
Oh im sorry do you miss your Titan skating....
-
Which one do you thing is different? I used all three classes a decent amount, and they felt the same to me.
-
Which one do you thing is different? I used all three classes a decent amount, and they felt the same to me.
They felt similar, not the same. Titans should still be able to skate some. Warlocks need a little more air speed. Hunters feel clunky jumpy. It's weird. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, and I think it's fair to say that D1's jump system was good enough to carry forward.
-
I agree with that except for titan skating. You should be able to get speed with increased control/strafe lift, but it shouldn't allow you to go faster than other classes.
-
titans did skate some in the beta.
-
Lol.... so true :)
-
Also on lengthening the PVP match time by 33% by increasing score requirement One bright light in the beta was that the matches were much shorter and mercys happend quickly. Never felt at any point during a clear loss that 33% more time would make any difference.

Wrong direction. People may want a gun game in Pvp, but the space magic is as much a part of the game and its appeal in Pve as the guns It's bad enough that Pve players are being forced to accept a dps nerf with the weapon system changes But to also insist that there they accept having the frequency that they can use their abilities nerfed as well in the name of trying to turn the Crucible into an e-sport is unacceptable. If we have to accept the weapon system changes. Pvp has to accept a larger role for abilities. This game is not Halo, and the Sandbox team will BREAK IT (again) trying to force it to be a Halo clone.

I heard some one complain about a 23 second difference in granade time? That doesn't seem that bad
2-3 minute cooldowns on grenades and melees is not "a lot of space magic"
Destiny 2 beta cooldown on grenades and melees was one minute.
