So I took about 5 minutes or so to look through the competitive forum and I saw something disappointing. About every other post there was a complaint along the lines of "bungie ruined pvp" or "worst meta in destiny." This annoyed me as it would with any sweaty player. Because I believe that this meta is preparing players for Destiny 2.
Even though there are a couple of weapons in this game that have countered the special ammo nerf. This meta has successfully upped the use of primaries. What this has done for players is set up the idea for Destiny 2's pvp. Which is centered around primary use. Except for the power ammo but it's okay because only one player can grab power ammo, that plus power ammo is going to be limited in Destiny 2. The current meta has subtly prepared everyone for Destiny 2 by enforcing the use of primaries more than secondaries.
Now I know there will be a bunch of comments saying "oh what about sticky grenades" or "sticky grenades are still op" or "You're a -blam!-ing loser stfu." Alright well for sticky grenades all I can say is they have a low skill gap and won't be one shots in Destiny 2.

I know what they're trying to do, it just pisses me off that we've been playing with special for 3(ish) years now. People are used to using secondaries that reliably kill, especially now because Bungie and people who hardly play the game nerfed basically everything. In my opinion, primaries needed a significant buff to warrant the special changes.

1 ReplySit back with a mida and clean up all day. Any open map, you win.

1 ReplyPeople let their abilities carry them in this game so I'd imagine that for D2 a lot of people are going to be bad (worse than d1).

If I don't have an icebreaker type sniper in D2 I will not play pvp. It's not about primary play I do that too. It's about fun factor and sniping is fun to me.

I liked it at first. I thought the same thing. "Sweet, now they'll use primaries" LOL no. Icebreaker, wormwood, occasional no land beyond. If they are using a primary it's a palindrome or a mida. It sucks. There will never be diversity.
