Nah, I'm just going to buy year 3 thorn from Xur, this Friday.
But seriously, wouldn't it be hilarious if Xur sold year 2 quest item like Malice, Spindle or Swords?

There's no way man. Xur doesn't sell exotics that have to be obtained through a quest. See: Sleep Stimulant, No Time To Explain, Chaperone, etc etc

Invective was sold. I obtained one from a Year 1 bounty, but now Xur sells it. SGA Bad Juju etc...

But that's because the y1 quests were removed. If the quests are still do-able, then Xur won't be selling those items.
