As with any game you're initial K/D tends to haunt you later as you get better, but besides that I try new things. I play different classes. I try different builds. I try different styles of play. That keeps things fun for me. My experiments don't always work out and my K/D suffers for it. In the end I'm striving for that "positives" value but if I never reach it? -blam!- it!
-
Good to see you're having fun! At least you're not one of those selfish players with a horrible k/D of under 1.

2 RepliesGit gud.

3 RepliesI dunno what my K/D is and I'm proud of it

Good for you. It's only a game.

Congrats. You play a video game for fun. Rare these days. :)

Do you bro! If you're having fun, you're winning!!

I got mine to .9 finally but .8 was for a while lol

Edited by Mr.Thrasher: 5/29/2016 2:40:23 AMI guess if I ever want my k/d to go up I'll just spend a weekend using my favorite fusion rifle and mida. Along with a nice LMG that goes dink..dink..dink

ITT: people in denial. You can be a day one player and still increase your K/D. No such thing as a "plateau" of mediocrity. I'm all for playing how you want, but you should always try to improve your game and your skill. That's what makes it fun for me, to see I'm always getting better in gametypes.
-
Why should I care
-
2 RepliesThe only way you can possibly be proud of such a dreadful K/D, is if you had an even worse K/D (0.4 for example) and you improved it exponentially.
-
In the beginning I tried so hard to be good, only to find I sucked bad. When I said F it just play to have fun! My K/D went from crap .4 to a fair .8 (not great but I'm good). It's lower now because I'm trying different PvP games and weapon combos, it's still a work in progress. When I think I'm doing poorly due to "better players", I tent to get more aggressive. In the end I have a better match k/d then many of them. Then there are those matches where no matter how hard I try I can't get traction. I can't say I'm good at PvP but I hold my own!
-
-high five- I'm in the same boat as you lol. As long as I get to play Rambo for jollies that's good enough for me.

Edited by TrulyDontCare: 5/29/2016 12:32:27 AMI do the same thing. My shitty early PvP days left me unable to get above 1.15 or so once I improved. I decided to stop caring and just have fun. I try out new weapons constantly and attempt different play styles, etc. (I also tend to play intoxicated). I dropped to .96, even though I'm much better now, but I enjoy PvP 100% more. I know I'm good when I'm feeling competitive. I don't feel a need to prove it to anybody. Like I said, I'm having a lot of fun now, so I still win.

1 ReplyI'm with you. My kd sucks but I'm fine with it. Partly because I don't care. Mostly because the cause of said bad kd is the cheap asses infesting this network. People who quickscope, camp, hide around corners with shotguns etc.

Totally with you on this one. Destiny was my first real fps, and so crucible was more of a training ground for me when I started. Because of this, my kd was super low from the very beginning, and while I have gotten so much better, I have to come terms with the fact that my kd can't really change to much anymore. This does have the upside of making me not feel like kd is everything, and I can play around with my loadout and have fun lol. Cause you know, that's why I bought the game in the first place.

3 RepliesI feel you, my KD has plateaued at around 1.3-1.35 since my Titan is a day one character. Can't really do anything about it, because I'm not deleting my Titan so I just stopped caring because I know that I've improved so much since then and am probably around a 1.8-2.0 KD player now. KD doesn't really mean anything at all but all these tryhards on the forums take KD so seriously to where it seems like people don't try to have fun in crucible anymore and instead are just focused on sweating every game for meaningless numbers. SBMM doesn't help the situation much either...
