Do you think hard scoping is cheap?
I've been seeing a lot of people say that hard scoping is cheap lately and I have been getting hate mail for so called "hard scoping" so I wanted to see if this is what everyone thinks
Personally I don't think it is. There isn't a hip fire reticule meaning...guess what...YOU HAVE TO AIM. Also think of it as reality. How many times do you hear on the news some guy just wiped out an army quick scoping them. Never. The scope isn't there for style or looks, you are supposed to use it and be more stationary/immobile. If someone is camping in the back of the map with only their sniper then go flank them, you already know exactly where they are. If you get sniped from that angle multiple times that's your fault. After the second time you should pretty much realist they are gonna be camping there the entire time. So please quit saying it's cheap/cheating/cowardly etc cause it's not at all that. They are simply using the sniper the way it should be used. I feel that the only reason people hate it is because with the large shotgun nerf and the high aa yd stare, people can simply camp in the back of the map with their buddies and rack up a portion of kills. This also slows the games multiplayer down which makes the experience boring and even dreadful for some players.
Also please explain why you have your opinion, I'd love to see why people think it is/isn't cheap.

1 ReplyIt wouldn't be cheap of the snipers had sway, more kick, and less fire rate. Snipers in real life are much more difficult to handle. Snipers in Destiny feel like Nerf Guns.

No I don't sit and hard scope all game but in certain situations it's how you should snipe. Let's say you know the opposite team has shotguns. You rush up to a room and see nothing but red on your map and know they are there. Back off and hard scope till they pop around the corner. Why am I gonna rush in a room when I know shotguns are waiting for me? Let's say every round you know someone is gonna go a certain way but you can hard scope that spot before they can get there it would be stupid not to. Now if I snipe someone do I sit there and hard scope their orb? No not at all I rush immediately and play the numbers game. That only applies to certain situations though. You gotta take in consideration the enemy might have a super so it would be safer not to rush. You don't always have to be an idiot and rush into bad situations.

There's still skill in it, true. But, when there's very few ways to counter (or none)...yeah it's a problem. Edit: only bungie can make this right, starting with better revive locations. (Not spawn, revive.)

In crucible, I run from different spots to snipe, but in trials I will not be the one guy that rushes with a sniper. Still "hardscoping" anyway. (Me personally, I wouldn't try to do anything else besides use the sniper for its original purpose)

What makes hard scoping "cheap" or seem noobish is that someone hard scoping with the reticle at head level sitting at the end of a hallway. Skill level needed for hard scoping = 0.

Hard scoping takes more skill than blink shot gunning Granted it's a pain in the ass to counter a team of skilled snipers who cover all the choke points, but it can be done.

Not at all. However spending the entire game hardscoped in one corner and not moving at all...... Getting killed by a super and going back to the exact same place to hardscope. Not even kidding, I went up against a guy who literally had his L2 button taped to the back.....

Kids are just mad they got hit by someone who was tactful and patient enough to cover an obviously exposed and well traveled area. You're only lucky it's a videogame and you can respawn. I wish the scrubs who bitch and moan would actually die in real life after getting sniped ingame. It would remove the cancer from the community.

It's not cheap it's a tactic that is what snipers do. I don't even use snipers I run scout/pulse with a sidearm. People complain too -blam!-ing much I have fun dodging snipers then flanking them and taking them out. As a matter of fact that's exactly what we did in Trials today.

Cuz that's what sniping is. And if you feel like quick scoping and run and gunning is how snipers were meant to be, I feel like you will be more suited to shotguns.
