After the Awoken Fleet's defeat at Saturn by the hand of Oryx, the Awoken Queen Mara Sov has vanished. No one knows if she is alive or dead. Her brother Prince Uldren survived the battle and made it to Mars, while the Queen is still missing. No one is sure that she is alive....that is until now.
Cayde-6 said in the Grimoire card Prison of Elders, The Reef , "She kept them (her captured enemies) in her prison, the Prison of Elders...The Prison of Elders is a really curios thing. It holds creatures of enormous power...And it holds them well. The Queen, she can do things I don't understand. There's a power behind her, or in her, that values that Prison."
If Cayde is correct then the Prison of Elders is linked to the Queen. If something happened to Queen then all of the prisoners in the Prison of Elders would be able to get out. Since even after the battle the Prison of Elders still stands and all of its powerful residence are still locked, then the Queen must be alive. Do you think I am right, wrong, or do you need more proof?

I said "needs more proof" But in the grimoire, you read that she saved the oldest harbinger instead of sending it to the dreadnaught. (Harbingers=those big balls of light the queen conjures during the opening battle) Not much is known about these, only that they are controlled by the queen and her techuens(sp?), are very powerful, and are living organisms (evidence: the oldest one was saved) So if I were to add it all together as it stands right now, I think she saved the final harbinger and used it to transmat herself to the prison, most likely in a coma-like state. It is also rumored that Mara Sov could be Savathûn(sp? again, sorry), one of Oryx's sisters. So in all likelihood, that bitćh is alive.

1 ReplyOr the queen is taken

2 RepliesIf you go up to Petra Venj in the reef and turn in a bounty or really anything, just across her, she'll say "I'm sorry, I couldn't do anything to help her". Now it doesn't necessarily refer to the queen, but it is a possibility

It's a prison ... That's it needs more proof

She isn't

Cayde could've meant that the Queen had total power over the Prison, since Variks is only the overseer of it. For example, if the Queen decided randomly that she wanted the Prison open, she would ask Variks or some other official to do it. Same for when she closed it. With the Queen (presumed) dead, there's no reason to open the Prison. Add in the fact that there are very dangerous creatures lurking in there, and no one would want to open the Prison in the state the Reef is in.

1 ReplyI think the fact she planned for all of this to happen is greater proof that she would not, essentially, commit suicide by going into a plan that did not require her demise.
