After many raids with people on these forums I ask myself this very question.
-
Just weak links in LFGs. Raided with my old Crotas End hard mates last night, got 3 hards done in just over 4 hours
-
6 Repliesstupid mistakes. it's worse when there's someone on the team going 'this is so easy, i beat it on my other characters five times before lunch' or 'this should be a cakewalk, [insert cp here] is the easiest part of the raid, we should be through this by now' every time we wipe. idk what mythical raid teams they had together before where everything was always so easy, but somehow i never wind up with those guys :(
-
I don't think it's difficult for others. I think it's more of stupid mistakes/deaths, no situational awareness or being spaced out. It's the point that it takes 5 others to not make a mistake or die for at least 4 cycles. Everyone can do it.
-
5 RepliesYou can't do the oryx fight at anything below 310
-
Everyone's a scrub. Getting better than the first few weeks were though.
-
2 RepliesTried doing finishing Oryx on my alt (304 light) on hard before reset last night. I was the lowest light in there and after 2 hours I never died once and we never even made it too shade. I eventually left the party and said " you can only not die so many times" didn't even finish the checkpoint because of BKS
-
More or less, try to get the timing down
-
2 RepliesBecause people get killed running around their pillars. I don't know how, but they do. Maybe they are tripping over pebbles? But most wipes are caused at this phase and I still don't understand why. But hey, it's just a game :)
-
13 RepliesThe entire raid is the easiest raid we've ever had. I have no clue why people struggle. Most likely because they can't cheese it.
-
1 ReplyWithout self res it's so hard because everything must go perfect. Your jump to sisters platforms, getting to bomb without getting smoked, running back to middle in time, not getting mortered, surviving shade. Now repeat 4 times. Yes I've beaten it but it took 3 weeks
-
Light level really. Once my team had 2 315s, the Ogres died before they got up. Then our plates started killing ads before the spawned eyes and darts. The rest was cake after that.
-
3 RepliesI am allways the relic runner. And dont give a F what others are doing as Long as they stand on their platforms. No night or whith night. I will get your relic before the night even spawns from the ship. But FFS stand on your platforms.
-
Because they think the no knight strat is smart
-
It's not hard any more
-
2 RepliesDoing it the normal way isnt hard but it is a good challenge. The only problem is that if someone dies before oryx is at half health it is pretty much a wipe. Of course a mistake can happen and anyone can die but the amount of mistakes that happen during this fight are ridiculous. It is so tedious and precise with barely any room for error and thats what makes it so hard. You basically have to be perfect, is that too much to ask? Lol.

1 ReplyI only just completed the normal raid last week. I asked the team to please explain the mechanics at golgoroth and beyond and to allow 2 wipes to learn it. It was fun and they were great.
-
Why does it matter? It's 'HARD' mode, so if it's actually hard for some people. Cool, they got their challenge.
-
The vast majority of this player base does not understand the mechanics of the fight. They don't understand really what's going on around them. Every role needs to be done consistently and without death. This general lack of understanding the roles (especially other's than themselves) leads to wipes. They don't focus. They expect a carry to a degree. "as long as I contribute dps..." doesn't work here. If you've been here long enough you saw the madness when bungie switched who Atheon teleported.
-
They can't stay alive. That is all.
-
People who don't know how to keep ogres distracted so when the runner jumps off with the relic he doesn't get killed by the gaze attacks

1 ReplyPpl: Are bad. Don't have sunsinger leveled Don't have defender leveled Don't have "time" to get touch of malice Can't think for themselves so they need a call out for everything. Can't shoot a knight. Can't avoid acolyte eyes Don't know how to run in a circle Can't adapt: For no knight - If Your bomb is far away book it early and let everyone know. For reg way- If your knight is late or you couldn't spawn kill it. Get off the damn platform and get to safety. Stop scrub self reviving as soon as you die. Think to see if it makes sense. Shout out to the multitude of groups that randomly group up off LFG and beat it in 1-2 tries. Cuz it's really not that hard. Been out for a month at this point. Final note to all non-ToM owners. The drops in kings fall are Terrible. Whatever Oryx is going to give you are not as fun or useful as the Touch. So go get that first. It's a better use of your time.

1 ReplyFor me personally, it's not that hard. It's just, getting my raid group together is like getting a bunch of 6 year old kids to sit in one place and be quiet for more than 20 minutes. But seriously, they sit down, try for about an hour and a half, and after we're starting to get it down, they RQ and go play Bo3
-
It's not.
-
Little mistakes. However... I raid with a group that doesn't make them. So you load in and clear him first try.
