why must Iron Banner be PvP only?
I'm not a big on PvP and hate that I have to play it just to get the new armor and weapons often getting close to the level needed to buy the item from Lord Saladin only to lose it due to weekly reset.😒 I think it would be awesome if when he comes there would be a new game tipe in the prison of elders where he would set different challenges for solo and strike team play to get the gear and giving those who don't like PvP a way to level

9 RepliesSame reason the raids/PoE was pve only. There is endgame content for both pvp and pve. Just sucks the pvp guys got dicked with 280 gear in iron banner.

Why is there so much hate about this. It dose not take anything away from pvp. If anything it adds another layer to the replay value of destiny. Its stupid that people would result to name calling because they have no relevant grounds for a discussion.

3 RepliesI got to level five playing like 3-4 matches a day at level 287. The bounties are where it's at. Use the emblem/shader/class item bonuses. Save the weekly bounties until Monday to turn in (they are worth 1748 rep EACH on Monday). That is to say that if you complete 2 weekly bounties, you only have to get to level 3.5 and those two bounties alone will get you to five. I don't ever play PvP except for Iron Banner and I have to say, it's not hard at all to get to level 5.

2 Repliesphaq that Why no PvE limited time event? There used to be one. It disappeared for a very long time, and came repackaged with HoW as a full time thing.

3 RepliesThe gear is specced towards pvp anyway. You don't need it. Now if you want it for loot then yea it's a diff story. But you can't complain for wanting something and then hate doing the activity for it. I need to do the raid for higher light levels but even the hard raid is already boring me. Still I have to do it and I won't complain. Ps getting iron banner gear as a non pvp player is just meh. Though the looks are nice.

prison of elders isn't Iron Banner dude, Iron Banner is a PvP special event, that's why it's PvP only

Why is it that to get lvl 320 gear I must play Pve, can't it be PVP? Stupid question dude, all the gear he gives you is only good for PVP so to get it wouldn't we play PVP ?

But it isn't end game gear, it's just stuff that is good in pvp. You get way better stuff doing strikes and they have a chance of being over 290

If you don't pvp then Raid is our endgame gear.

2 RepliesWell what would PvE Iron Banner be? Perhaps the PvE would be the 2nd week every Month and PvP be 4th Week. All I can think of for PvE is a PoE type thing. 6 Guardians go in with Bounties and all, many Hard Nightfall Tier Waves come. You gain points for killing and lose Points for Dying. Random PoE Maps and Crucible Maps.

Pve has raids and pvp has ib/trials, u dont need to do pvp for top tier loot

But the iron banner is a pvp event. Not a pve event, there's a reason that pvp takes on such a big roll in some cases so you can get good at it for these events. And trust me just do the daily bounties, the loot was fixed and you'll get something you want in no time

They could make new lore for it but what they have currently set up says saladan loves pvp.

Simple it would take extra work and money to make a game wide iron banner event with lore and PVE ramifications. Its much cheaper and Activision friendly to re-brand/re-use the crucible as [b][i]"The Iron Banner"[/i][/b], flick the switch on the level advantages and offer a small set of different loot than the average crucible.
