No one is quoting kotaku because kotaku isn't a credible source of information. They are the equivalent of "so I heard from this guy that knows somebody"

So I heard from a friend who heard from a friend that heard from a friends brother who heard from his third cousin in law who heard from his neighbor who heard from his boss that heard from his son in law..... This is how I imagine it when someone says I heard from a friend who heard from (insert friend or relative).
