Luke Smith's interview:
"Reforging is going to come back in some form or another."

Hell yes!!!
It'll be ideal if they bring reforging back BEFORE the next ToO - that way, the playing field will be more balanced.
I'm already seeing quite a few people getting snipers with Hidden Hand, shotguns with reinforced barrel + shot package, Rockets with tripod and grenades and horseshoes, etc....... And many other legendaries with all the right perks for a PvP advantage.
If they don't bring reforging back sooner, then those lucky snowflakes will have a slew of advantages in PvP activities like Iron Banner and ToO. Reforging must come back - FAST!!!!
I hope that they make reforging different than before, especially when it comes to getting the same crappy rolls over and over again.
When I got my first Ash Factory, it took me a total of 79x reforges until I got one with Tripod + Grenades and Horseshoes. And........ I did not stop there, I continued reforging because it did not have Javelin in the middle column.
All and all, it took my around 130 something reforges until I got my first Ash Factory with Tripod + Grenades and Horseshoes + Javelin.
I don't need to explain why a Ash Factory (or Radgast) with that roll is a beast in all PvP activities.
I've seen Ash Factories just straight up stop with those perks on them. If it wasn't for reforging, then those few lucky snowflakes would have been the only ones with "god tier" rocket launchers.
Reforging is what balanced the playing field, and made so that the lucky snowflakes didn't have too great of an advantage.

I listened to that podcast. Very illuminating. Definitely worth an hour of one's time. However, Luke Smith says they won't be having a repeat of the reforging a la House of Wolves. He specifically states that it sucked to have people grinding all to have the same damn weapon with the same damn rolls. Your post is misleading IMO
-
it was nice whilst we had but now weve lost it again I actually prefer it. It was boring as shit when everyone had the exact same rolls on guns running around in the crucible. So what if someone has a godly weapon, theyre a rarity and ill still shoot them.
and probably die but dammit god weapon or not ill fight!
-
probably just on armors like in the preview stream and not on weapons.

1 ReplyEdited by Kilroy: 10/1/2015 6:58:23 PMIf they do, they better put a limit on how many times a weapon can be reforged (like 3 times max), or maybe just one reforge, but you have a choice out of 3 options.
-
Playing field being more balanced? Lol. I don't think so.
-
1 ReplyOmg dude not again..I'm just starting to get my weapon parts back =(
-
1 ReplyLearned my lesson, no thanks not worth the time.
-
Reforging is for noobs anyway
-
Edited by Argonaut101: 10/1/2015 6:51:21 PMLmao I have 6 Radegasts Fury and it took me in TOTAL about 10-15 rolls to get Tracking Tripod Javelin On all 6 and 1 of each burn on 2 characters
-
11 RepliesAnd this says you are wrong
-
Yea i don't like reforging at all. That's part of the fun is finding a weapon that actually ha advantages over other guns.
-
2 RepliesBoooo No reforging! Not even for IB. Just make IB weapons have unique perks like the class specific weapons do. Makes them worth the grind without breaking pvp and weapon diversity
-
Oh no. Reforging weapons broke HoW.
-
Lame. I think reforging weapons was such a terrible idea. All you get is people running around with the same weapons, always looking for the same perks. Probably the worst thing to happen to destiny. Over Thorn, yr 1 last word, blink shotgunning, sunbreakers, and yr 1 bladedancers.
-
No reforming totally broke things. Weapon variety stagnated. Just no
-
Reforging is shit. Leave it out.
-
I enjoy getting that one awesome lucky drop. Reforging took that away. If it's brought back I hope it takes legendary marks, or make it only available for only a set number of reforges.
-
5 RepliesReforging is the cancer to pvp.
-
Noooo reforging sucked especially since they made my older perfect rolled weapons useless now.
-
No. God no. Reforging ruined the game. There was no point in getting anything g cause you already had the perfect weapon and there was no variety cause everyone had, Thorn/TLW, Shot Package/Rifled Barrel/High Range Shotgun or Unflinching/Hidden Hand Sniper, and Grenades & Horseshoes/Tripod Rocket Launcher. Everyone had the exact same thing and there was no reason to keep that other weapon that you got. It's exciting now for me to get a 1000 Yard Stare to drop cause I wanna see if it has better PvP perks for me than Last Resort and Firefly. Hoping for that Last Resort and Clown Cartridge/Performance Bonus. Either way, you won't be able to reforge any weapons from Iron Banner when it returns. That was stated earlier in the week I believe. Reforging was awful but I hope that if they do bring it back, it's only for armor. That way you can spec it to your playstyle. I would definitely want to spec for as much special and sniper ammo I could get cause that's the weapon I use most of the time. As long as weapon reforging isn't in the game, everything is pretty much balanced because then everyone won't have the God roll on everything.
-
1 ReplyReforging was the worst thing to happen to PvP since release. Everyone just runs around with the exact same shit with the exact same rolls. I'd much rather go up against numerous different guns with numerous different perk sets. I hope that when they do reintroduce reforging it either costs way more materials and glimmer to do or there's a limit to how many times you can roll any 1 weapon.
-
5 RepliesSo everyone has the same loadout? I'd rather have no reforging.
-
I honestly dont want it to come back.
-
Can't stand reforging. There is nothing unique about weapons if you can just keep reforging to get what you want. Maybe with armor it would be ok, but definitely not with weapons.
-
1 ReplyGod I hope not, if they are dead set on it, then limit to scopes or a single perk and not everything. The past reforging ruined a game based around getting loot. No weapon was special or unique, most guns could be rerolled to perform as good or better than exotics, and everyone was running around with the same loadouts.

Edited by origchee: 10/1/2015 3:12:43 PMLet's hope not!! An I highly doubt it
