10 year old son kicked from PoE 35 by cruel gamers
So last night my son (10 years old) was playing Destiny to complete his last objective on the Moments of Triumph. He was playing with 2 people he found on LFG. He had spend 3 hours playing with them and was one or two Gjallahorn shots from beating the final level when the two players from LFG said "Hey kid, you know whats funny?" and they kicked him from the fireteam. He was destroyed. He loves Destiny and mowed lawns all summer to pre-pay for the Taken King. If there happens to be anyone with a heart, a few hours for PoE 35, and a PS4, please reply to this. I wish there was more I could do for him, but maybe this will help.

I really want a valid answer to why a 10yr old shouldn't be playing Destiny. No one is backing that statement. I would rather play Destiny with my 10yr old son than half of the 13-22yo I have encountered.

17 RepliesWell first off, good job, you didn't rush to the forum demanding those idiots be punished for booting your son. Instead you request help for him. Some suggestions though, one of the replies here said join Dads of Destiny, this would be an excellent idea. Not only would you have like minded individuals to talk to, your son can form his own group of friends which will help avoid the need for lfg sites. Now for the "bad parenting" and "he's only 10" commentors. My son is 10, he also plays Destiny. He has his own friends on Xbox that he met while playing Destiny. Most are around his age a couple are around 13 or so. I do not monitor what he does on Xbox. He gets good grades in school, plays outside regularly and is polite and well behaved. Xbox is what he loves to do so we let him play, I also enjoy Destiny, I am in a clan, both my kids have joined the clan as well. My kids join me and my friends for vault runs, crota, poe, nightfalls and some crucible. So where is the "bad parenting"? I'll tell you where, its with the parents that actually ignore their kids. The ones that sit their ass in front of a TV or PC and tell their kids to leave them alone. Its with the parents that cater to their child's brat behavior by handing them what they want just to keep them from throwing a fit. Its evident in the children whose parents refuse to punish their kid because they think its abusive. For those pointing a finger and saying we're bad parents for allowing our children to play a game. Stating you'd never allow your child to play something like this or even be online without some extreme form of supervision. You're the problem, yes you, your children will become those teens that end up being complete pricks because mommy and daddy aren't there over their shoulder anymore.

44 RepliesWow, the majority of responses to this thread reaffirm why I want more late-game matchmaking activities - that way I won't have to go to some third party site, and find a team of twats who think it's OK to do any or all of the following: 1. Tell someone else how to parent their child. 2. Bash a child 3. Excuse massively-douchey behavior because it was unleashed on a child. 4. Excuse numbers 1 through 3 with a dismissive statement about how "that's just life / gaming / the internet / (this one's actually true) the black void where my heart ought to be" You're being monsters. Did your son get this completed yet? From what I've seen the destiny community do for strangers in Nepal and other disasters I was thinking this will be a positive post and cudos for the guys who helped the kid get the thing completed. Disappointed to see that people have turned this into a blame game.

People suck. So what if he is 10, his parent lets him play. That is just stupid that people keep mentioning his age. I would help, but I am on Xbox1. There are a lot of bad people on this forum, BUT there are also some good ones. Someone will step up and help him kill Skolas.

Maybe when he's Teen, which is the rating of this game. He can be accepted. A ten year old should be outside and being active when he still can. Or maybe a Nintendo console for the time being? Btw I'm a father of an amazing little girl.

Hey ive done it already but i help a lot get threw it if he hasn't finished it yet add me on psn name above ill help him threw with my clan. We usually just run people threw raids and poe until ttk drops

There is a special place in guardian hell for people that would do something like that! I mean I'm a dick but I wouldn't do that to anyone even if they pissed me off.
