So upon ranking up to 7 in Dead Orbit, I finally obtained the "Unwilling Soul 0-9" auto rifle, and boy was I happy! I finally had my Dead Orbit set complete! (including gear for Titan) That only lasted until I tried it in The Crucible. Man, I couldn't kill anyone worth jack with this thing! It made me think, and now I'd like to ask my fellow Guardians a question.
What do you think about high-Rof, low-Impact Auto Rifles?
Would you ever consider using one?
How many people have you ever seen using one? (in PvE & PvP)
-
Auto rifles aren't good. The high ROF low impact ARs are absolutely useless, and if you're going to use a lower ROF higher impact AR, then you might as well use a high ROF scout rifle...
-
i prefer the mid tier for auto rifles. such as the monte carlo. combined with field scout of course. the high rof no impact autos are near useless to me.
-
1 ReplyWell as the 2.0 is buffing auto rifles I think my year 2 suros is going to be wrecking kids.
-
I have my fingers crossed that the auto rifle buff will bring these guns back. I have a silimar's wrath with high stability and glass half full waiting in my vault.
-
Personally, I have never been a fan of them. Not even in the vanilla game. I'm not an auto rifle fan in general but I always prefered those that had focus fire.
-
They suck in pvp but can be fun mobbing. I miss my shadow price. It was a blast.
-
They're the best kind. They actually have a solid ttk if you can hit headshots. I always reforge for high caliber rounds and hidden hand/ counterbalance. First rule what I'm digging now (it has good range and stability) but hands down Monte Carlo is the best.

And I seen people using Atheon epilogue in PvP. They barely get a lot of kills. I think Low impact high rof ARs are okay, but with the right perks, it'll be a better weapon. Not many people used them. Unwilling Soul 09 needs to have crowd control (Or focused fire since its a very desirable perk) and glass half full. Smallbore too. 2 main perks will help you increased damage and Smallbore perk increases base stability and range since its below average.

I've shot my sparrow with one. That's about it.

5 RepliesOnly one worth its due is Monte Carlo
-
They are horrid. Primarily because you have to be within shotgun range to score a kill
-
1 ReplyAll currently garbage. Maybe 2.0 will change that. Maybe.
-
2 RepliesLow impact auto rifles can't do squat in Crucible. They're mostly a support weapon at this point. Get yourself a Pest Control Matrix if you want more punch. Other than that roll low impact auto until you get crowd control, glass half full, small bore or persistence. These perks are essential to using an auto rifle both in Crucible and PvE.
-
I love them. It takes a great amount of skill to use them and the right perks but they are beast. I have an orgional unwilling soul with perfect balance, apr, and glasshalf full.
-
Wait until the new patch and try again. If you still do poorly, then they are not fit you.
-
Get reactive reload, crowd control, and high caliber rounds and you will reck people.
-
3 Repliesstep 1. roll focus fire step 2. roll counter balance step 3. roll extended mag or smallbore step 4. prefire ftw.
-
Get as much stability as possible
-
It's not the gun it's the player, that's all I've been using & was killing them in crucible
-
Need to be played as a support weapon in 2-3 men micro-squads. But even then, 3 Thorns will kill faster, lol.
-
The only think they're good for is keeping other people from being able to aim and hit you lol.
-
1 ReplyThe higher the rate of fire an auto weapon has, the more stability it needs. Ironically, all high ROF auto rifles have a very low stability. I don't buy them and if I get them, I shard them.
-
I have a rare auto rifle called silvered hushwind its rate of fire and stability is pretty much maxed out. It has low impact but it still wrecks people in PvP. Its going to be even more beast after 2.0
-
1 ReplyThey need to be removed and replaced with the smg. Useless things
-
You can try reforging it with focused fire and something that improves the stability. Maybe that will help.
