Explain that one Bungie? Seriously these guys are so full of it.
G...R...I...N...D...
If you ignore what they say and actual look what they are doing it's easy to see they are turning year 2 into the biggest grind ever.
Yes I can read, and unlike a lot of you it seems, I can analyse what I read.
What I'm saying is this:
what is the real reason that they are nerfing xP on nite?
Believe that guff? You really are gullible.
It's to increase the grind.
Edit: How long will it take to get the same EX buff that you used to get from 15minutes playing NF?
It's obvious to anyone who is not a sheep and actually thinks about what they are told before opening their mouths that it's to increase the grind slow down the levelling. the entire game is being nerfed somewhat to slow things down. Ghorn? XP? Strange Coins? Open your eyes.
Edit2: Lots of talk about Grinding LEVEL UP is a lot better than RNG. You seem to be missing something. Once you hit level 40, you will need RNG, most likely Raid RNG just like before to max out your Light. AGAIN.
NOTHING has actually changed from vanilla release last september. they have done a complete U-Turn. We are starting all over again. In a few weeks EVERYONE will be level 40, and then everyone will be trying to max your light up. RNG be thy god. That's the number that is relevant.
It's freaking hilarious, because it is exactly the same thing over again.
Edit 3: So pretty much every new change relates to slow down levelling, grind and DLC extension.
Nerfing weapons, leaving Exotics behind = Slower, trickier level clearance. More Grinding.
Removing Weeklies = No 100% source of coins = More Grinding.
Leveling to 40 = Grinding for light items and now guns after 40, and specific armour = More Grinding.
Account rather than character weekly rewards = Slow down, can't use 3 characters to multiply rewards.
Nitefall XP buff removed = More grinding.
All of this is actually fine with me, I never minded the grind, but the way Bungie is spinning this is rather painful to read.
Edit 4: I've played since Alpha.
So stop suggesting I don't know the day one grind. Been there, done that.
Mark Noseworthy tweeted earlier to say that Coins are not gone. They will drop more regularly in other areas = more grind.

It would have been nice to replace the XP boost with a focused light (or 4) drop. Then it would matter less when in the week you did it, but it would still help you level faster.
-
You know what I think people are mad about and can't handle? Change. Well I have a few empowering words that will get you through this - embrace change.
-
Honestly, the grind is the main reason people will put upwards from 300 hours into this game. Without it people would lose interest way before the next DLC release, which is already a noticable problem. HoW grind was so easy that people are dropping out like flies until TTK releases. What I think you are more upset about is Bungie not being transparent with any and all changes. And I think that's something that everyone can agree on. Bungie needs to be more honest and straightforward with their fans. We aren't stupid, or at least not all of us are. We know that if a change made to the game only affects us negatively, there's a reason for it behind the scenes. Whether it's to raise play time, bring back players that quit or bring new players into the game, it doesn't matter. But being honest with us is undoubtably the best path to take.

1 ReplyIf you don't like it just gtfo. All everybody does on the forums is bitch and compain. Your not entitled to anything. Bungie made the decision to do it this way because its their game. Not yours.
-
1 ReplyIf they did not nerf xp gains everyone will be lvl 40 in the first day if they did not
-
This is really uninformed nonsense
-
9/11 was an inside job

4 RepliesYou need to be level 40 to access the nightfall... Idiot... They're giving more xp to compensate for the lack of nightfall buff... Idiot... They're giving everyone a free character boost to lvl 25 instantly and allowing us to start at lvl 34 just because of the gear that could be gained in a fraction of the time it would have taken to gain 14 levels (from 20)... Idiot... Also, focused light is yet ANOTHER xp boost... Idiot...
stop being a bitch...
-
You are aware that they increasing all xp and rep gain to compensate for not having the buff, meaning ur not losing anything it's gonna be the same as always have the buff on
-
Bungie definitely needs to work on their PR. Personally I don't care about the experience buff. I'm sure I'll hit the level cap and it wouldn't matter. I'm just discouraged about their reason. Their changing something after it's been in place for a YEAR and then say "it's not what we intended". That's ridiculous.
-
The new rng system makes once you get a new drop lets say you get a hawkmoon and never had one before then the rng knows not to drop that again.
-
In House of Wolves, there was very little grinding. What did people do instead? Bitch that rewards were "too easy", there was "nothing do do", and that there was no point in killing Skolas. Which way do people want it?

6 RepliesEdited by AnonPig: 8/28/2015 6:06:46 PMOh no! What ever will I do without my slight buff in experience gain. I suppose I'll just have to play a video game I enjoy playing a little longer.... DAMN YOU BUNGIE! I WON'T STAND FOR THIS! I was told I missed the point... here's my response for all those curious
I think you started an argument by insulting everyone reading if they disagreed with your point. Nightfalls are being ruined because of the removal of KTO, they're easy enough, instant restart would be appreciated though. The fact is that you claim they're making the game a larger grind when they took out an insignificant piece. To access the nightfall you have to be level 40, they gave people with 1 character the ability to receive 3 rewards from what will be replacing the Weekly strikes. If they still had the nightfall buff all it would do is offer reputation bonuses of what 25 points? Weapons are leveled by infusion now so it's not to them. You're literally casting nothing but illogical poison into the community and it sickens me.
-
And the conspiracy theorists continue to populate the forums. I bet you believe that Bungie removed Gjallarhorn from Xur, causing him to glitch and not sell a weapon that week, amirite?
-
1 ReplyXP buff is being accounted for by increasing all XP gains, OP weapons should be nerfed because they're OP, and strange coins aren't going anywhere. Just play PoE if you want a steady stream of coins
-
4 Repliesoh look, more complaining! hooray!!
-
Its funny that they say all xp gains will be changed for it, Well thats fine but wont help if you need considerably more xp being at higher levels and all. All that aside all i really care is that the rep requirement goes down for factions or they increase the amount you get. Ooo even if that heroic playlist shits out rep, id be set with that. I just would be annoyed to have to grind more to level factions. The levels are gonna be w.e i mean if they want it to take long they could have just made it gta 4 levels of xp required lol.
-
Its all too true, and i agree its not really a bad thing, if anything though i think the drop rates are higher then back at day 1 where engrams could decode to blues. But ya its gonna be a long grind for those last levels and then itll be light needed to best the end game activities at 40. Same as when it was 20 and then light, just separate numbers now.
-
So gaining xp from raids strikes vanguard bounties faction bounties crucible bounties weapons quest crucible quest patrols the new missions poe and a boast in xp from certain things u can equip and bungie buffing the xp gain will some how make u grind more to lvl 40 wen u are already lvl 34 n the "grind."to lvl 20 isnt even a grind i think they make have took it out because it would have made it way to easy if u ask me.. n for the record some ppl like only play with one character... many ppl have said (even bungie) doing all the weekly events 3 time is more of a chore then anything. Yes there will be more grind bt it will actually be fun n there many ways for u to grind
-
They want you to get diabetes from the redbull or buy their bag of shit for $20 for the class items with the xp buff.
-
I never got any focused light, I think many people haven't got any ..
-
5 RepliesWait where did you see they were doing away with strange coins? Not a challenge a genuine question.
-
Edited by Dark Tankbuster: 8/28/2015 6:42:02 PMIf you don't like it don't buy that's my motto.
-
4 RepliesWait, did they say they are removing night falls or weekly heroic strikes? And/or making the rewards account wide instead of per character?
-
I'm looking forward to playing one character instead of splitting time between 3. I hope people who play for rewards and only rewards do quit. I'm tired if reading their bullshit on the forums.

Edited by Ravenous Thqwib: 8/28/2015 6:24:46 PM*over the intercom* If you look to your left you will see someone who read half the weekly update and stopped instead of reading the full thing learning xp gains are getting tweaked and that the rebalance is for the better crucible and thinks just because it's no longer the old weekly we get no strange coins (BTW, grinding is pretty much why anyone plays, I don't want everything I could get first try)
