It's technically possible. Use xur for one armor peoce, get carried thru poe for armor core, hope rng is on ur side.

I guess a week is an exaggeration, I just feel like if it was truly a year one exclusive, it would be available to people who played at the release of atleast near it. Would be cool to see people who've been here since truly the beginning.

It's not about elitism it is about a shared bond between players who have the same experiences. Year 2 players won't have them to the same degree. If two guardians are in a social space with that emblem it is a sign of shared experience and respect whether you burned through the requirement or took 12 months.
