It is in essence one of the dumbest steps in a bounty I have ever seen. It is a sign of Bungie's extreme laziness with the Elder Cipher and PoE in general. Not that anybody cares, but this is how I would have done the ciphers - Take it to Variks and pick the weapon you are going for - this will result in you getting one of 3 ciphers to do, depending on the weapon. Each one would have multiple steps. Dregs Promise - kill 100 fallen with Vestian Dynasty Lord of Wolves - Kill 100 Fallen with a Pulse Rifle Queenbreakers Bow - Kill 100 Fallen with a Sniper Rifle Return to Variks - He wants you to get the Queen Cipher from the Queens Chest in PoE Return to Variks - Now you must do the following Dregs Promise - kill 500 Dregs with a Pulse Rifle Lord of Wolves - Kill 150 Captains with a shotgun Queen Breakers Bow - Kill 250 Vandals with a sniper rifle Return to Variks - Earn 1000 points killing bosses in PoE. Something like this would have made the Ciphers alot more fun and meaningful, rather than the exact same thing for each weapon.
