Can the name warlock be changed (For two reasons)
1. I am a Christian and the word Warlock brings up connotations of witchcraft, spells, and frankly dark and Satanic power. Obviously in the game, the Warlocks are warrior scholars of the light fighting against the darkness. And I love how their powers are very scientific and Traveler focused with the use of Void (universe) and actual sun-shaped grenades. It is definitely a unique class, but one that just does not link up with the name, Warlock.
2. Warlock seems to restrict the class to males, since Warlocks can be seen as male witches. None of the other classes only sound like they appeal to one gender. So for greater inclusion of both genders
to choose this class, the name change could be made.
I can see this very cool and unique class being called something like a Sage or Scholar, so that it doesn't have any harmful and sinful connections to dark arts, which really should not be taken lightly. Once again, I am a Christian and I am saying that beause that is my worldview and where this post is coming from.

So no creative endeavour can cater for all possible mindsets. Although I know a warlock is historically a name for a male 'witch', I personally never made any kind of similar association while playing a futuristic space fantasy game such as destiny I'm surprised, as you're a Christian, that the whole premise of the game hasn't presented you with far deeper issues than the use of a class name in a non-supernatural fiction

So, even though the MAJORITY of the worls is either not christian or not as strict and orthodox as you and NOT offended by the word worlock, bacause you are offended it must be changed. Shooting aliens in the face (who in your beliefs must be gods creatures also) does not offend you but a word does? You need to seek professional help for your scrwed up, backwards principles but you probably would never do that. You'll just pray and hope some miracle happens.

4 RepliesNot to jump in the whole conspiracy this and that but I always believe that this game has a deeper meaning than just killing aliens... The whole hive story is deeper than just a story. Look at the warlock crota raid helmet and the ram ( praise me) reminds me of baphomet head and the creep goes on. I'm not a Christian or religious for that matter but I have a few ideas about those hiding messages in most things and I can tell you who ever is the master mind behind the story and art knows more than video games

But you're worried that the name is satanic in nature? Look buddy, I get that you're a Christian and you hold certain beliefs that might make something like this controversial for you... But I'm an atheist and I don't believe in any of the nonsense you're spouting. Why should Bungie or any game developer cater to your bronze age beliefs when there's millions of people like me that find the name not only to be fitting, but badass? Not everyone is Christian and not everyone wants your dogma to influence our lives. If the name offends you so much then you simply should not play the game, not try to change and ruin it for the rest of us.
