So, as we all probably know by now, there will be a distinct lack of raidness in the upcoming HoW DLC. How's everyone feeling about this? Angry? Intrigued? Bemused? Concerned? Betrayed? Happy? Get good scrub?
From what I can tell the end game loot is still there so that's good, and looks pretty cool. And as far as I can tell this is obtained from the Arena trials, right? Also there's the option pf upgrading old guns and the obvious extras of PvP maps, gear and strike maps etc. I think the main quesion is, will there be enough playability and content to keep guardians going up until September with the Comet release? If we have the same problems as last time were it was very easy to reach higher light lvls instantly due to new gear being easly obtainable striat away then I can see longevity being a big problem. Let's hope they've solved this.
But I can see a positive from the lack of raidiness in that it is a change and in Destiny a change of direction may not be a bad thing. I think we all expected a raid then the expectation of 'Lets do this raid first and try and beat everyone else and get stuff!' would follow. So when you take that away and replace it with something generally 'unknown' then that adds a different perspective to the Destiny thought process we're all used to, not a bad thing in my opinion. If anything something new should have people flocking to their screens come May 19th, not giving up the quest to find a Ghorn and new exotics.
Anyway these are my thoughts. How does everyone else feel?

4 RepliesIntrigued but not convinced it will keep players going till September. I didn't get the dark below untill January and feel cheated with it. All three of my guardian's have completed it in 3 weeks. 1 a piece with only a few hours of game play a night. Hopefully there's more than a few story missions to help the story along and not on the grimoire cards. Hopefully the arena is more than just waves of ads in a colossium n more room based.

1 ReplyI'm curious but it seems like there is a shift to a more pvp orientated game. The Trials of Osiris and the Prison of Elders seem like a pvp mode to me.

1 ReplyEven though I am sad that we don't have a Raid that was initially supposed to be there, I'm still excited for the DLC and its content. There has always been enough content in the game to keep us going, just depends on the person playing the game. I have loved this game since I first heard of it, and I still do.

Where's the option for both?

1 ReplyXbox is getting a windfall in September

Something different than a raid? You mean, some variety in how we play Destiny? A good thing all round. Can't wait.

2 RepliesI am ok with it, I want to wait and see what comes of this choice they had to make. Questions arise as to what made them humbled, and if it is a 3 player activity will it have MM optional?

To this e who are mad, So your mad because they are going to spend more time working on and polishing the new raid?

2 RepliesEdited by R3d_Eye_Dragoonx: 4/13/2015 11:22:32 PMBungie has balls releasing HoW with no raid, they must be confident that this "arena: will be a hit. Count me as intrigued, im excited for whatever this is, im assuming horde mode.

Intrigued. Now the "raid" armor descriptions make sense. So there will be a Walker, Archon, and a Kell.
