I am experiencing the same problem your friends are. I cannot access many features of the app because it says I haven't created a destiny character when I have.

Same things happening to me I cant use the destiny app now to search for groups view my friends or characters anymore since linking the account. Its really frustrating because i share an account with my brother and his app isnt updated so im sure when it is he will get the same problem in the meantime I have to use his phone now for the app
