You’re complaining because of your lack of skill level and blaming it on Bungie? The reason your gain little point and lose many is because your hidden MMR is lower than the actual skill level you’re playing at. If you want to gain more points and lose less then you have to play better. Don’t get me wrong, I think the current system for competitive is garbage. SBMM is to blame, it’s a failure of a system that doesn’t belong in any video game, especially a ranked playlist. You can thank the casual players for that one. But, just because the current system is garbage doesn’t mean it’s unfair. If you can’t climb that’s not anyone else’s fault but your own. If reaching platinum is a grind that’s not anyone’s problem but your own. If you can’t reach the rank you want you shouldn’t be able to receive the rewards.

They have a pre determined rank they want you at.. they've stated this lol. Yes, it's some BS. Once you get to the rank they went you? Couldn't tell ya how many matches I had won in a row at +2 - +8 points 🤣 lose a single match though and it was -150 - -200.. yeah not worth my time

The Comp playlist is a complete mess. It uses SBMM instead of rank-based MM, which effectively invalidates having a rank at all because the game is using an entirely different metric to determine your matches. There is no logic in having to play against people at a higher rank just to prove that you deserve to be in your current one. If the game has determined that someone is good enough to play against people in a given rank, then one would think that logically they should also be in that rank. Instead, you have people in Gold playing Ascendants because their hidden stats are equal. As you're aware, there's also no consistency in how many points you gain or lose after a match. I don't want to insult your pursuit, but Glorious is almost entirely a meaningless title because of this; it isn't indicative of being at a certain skill level, or a great accomplishment of punching above your weight. It just happens after beating your head against a wall for long enough. It's the 4th most common title, and is by far the most common one earned through Crucible. 50% more people have Glorious than Deadeye, whose requirements are literally just "use every weapon type for a bit".

I’m convinced it’s just to waste peoples time, especially with the “rank inflation/deflation” modifiers. If I play a few matches at a time per day, it’s almost always better results than grinding a bunch in a row as well.

When a .97 says Rift doesn’t belong in Comp then you know it’s real lol. And I mean that with all due respect. Because anytime a competent player says Rift doesn’t belong in Comp in the forums, all the blueberries with no thumbs come out of the woodworks to mock them for some reason. They literally like wait in the sewers for these kinds of posts to project their terrible game sense onto competent players. So it’s good to see a player at your level (who has actually played Comp) confirm Rift isn’t healthy for that playlist. Best of luck with the title.

The thing you’re misinterpreting about destiny competitive is. That you think getting better brings you up in rank… and bungie has stated this is not true. If you get better in the competitive playlist it’s will result in your matchmaking getting harder. The only thing you’re skill does in this playlist is give you better opponents. This is bungie theory about fairness. You’re honestly experience what top end players complain about on you’re own lvl. There are a lot of yt videos out there where ppl are in gold facing off against ascendent because there behind the scene skill says you’re should be playing these ppl. I can give you a in-depth explanation if you want. But essential bungie is staying that rank is a second objective and playing ppl of you skill and winning is the first. Hope this helps… the bottum line is bungie stamens are ppl with lower skill need protection from ppl who are better that’s why you prbly only when from feeling that you’re improving but you’re matchmaking only got harder.
