When a .97 says Rift doesn’t belong in Comp then you know it’s real lol.
And I mean that with all due respect.
Because anytime a competent player says Rift doesn’t belong in Comp in the forums, all the blueberries with no thumbs come out of the woodworks to mock them for some reason.
They literally like wait in the sewers for these kinds of posts to project their terrible game sense onto competent players.
So it’s good to see a player at your level (who has actually played Comp) confirm Rift isn’t healthy for that playlist.

It reminds me of that, very gimmicky. That is just my personal opinion though and I’m sure there are some good reasons for it to stay.

The issue I think is that the maps are asymmetrical or small enough that the spawns get screwed up. You can literally spawn in the path of the rift carrying team. Not to mention the fact the spark behaves strangely like not respawning at middle sometimes when it should (instead of staying next to your rift), or dunking doesn’t trigger.

That said it’s super annoying when rift does that one thing where it spawns a second rift, they should remove that and I can’t tell if it’s a bug or it’s in the game on purpose

Well, it kinda sucks tbh. Screws up anything when it comes to teams working together, just becomes a race of who can deposit one first

K/D means nothing in a SBMM playlist. 0.97 can actually be a good k/d if he's constantly playing top players. Rift requires more coordination and teamwork than any other mode, and it definitely belongs in the Comp playlist.

3v3 Rift really is just poorly designed for comp imo. With either Survival or Elimination, it promotes teams working together but also gives incentive to stay close enough so you can pick up spawns or mop up near-kills, but with Rift the way it forces you to respawn literally all the way in the back of the map sets up some ridiculous pushes that you can’t recover from. It’s not fun and it’s not fast either.

On the smaller maps if one team gets a wipe or takes out 2/3 it’s an easy path to a score. It’s just more suited to party play
