does anyone not use shotguns?
Playing Destiny pvp really makes one realize the power of the good old fashioned shotguns. I had never really invested in one before then I got invective and started using it in pvp then I realized everyone uses shotguns all the time
Hunters jump around like jumping jelly beans flinging pellets in every direction. Titans, fool hardy, charge at their enemies hoping for the one-for-one-post-mortem-shotgun-soiree. Warlocks float along the nearest air current pinging out shots at anything bellow them.
This silly play style is something a most everyone seems to be adopting, some are better than others, but is detrimental to the competitive games integrity. (Also, the excessively op exotic hand cannons), I don't mind shotguns in the game but pvp gets quite boring the same way all the time. when you die not necessarily because of lack of skill (not claiming that have any) but simply the weapon you happen to have is incapable of killing the opponent as quickly as their weapon kills you which is firebird the disadvantages of the weapon is balenced!
Solutions:
how am I supposed to know? That's not my job but if it's yours or you have any solutions let them know! BUNGIE that is!

1 ReplyI play aggressive. Only thing fun to me is trying to rack up mass amounts of kills, with that being said the games design requires I utilize a shot gun. Sniping is (in most cases not all) passive aggressive. Picking apart the opposing team and showing a bit more patience but also waiting back while the shotguns and exotic hand cannons insta-kill and rack up the score. Fusion rifles are silly guns and are annoying unrealistic guns so I don't even bother wasting my time with one and (again in most cases not all) (not pertaining to Fusion Rifles equipped in the primary slot) fusion rifle users are not top guys in crucible, as annoying as it is to get erased by a single shot laser cartoon gun, the users score lacks in comparison to the top players. Again that may not be you and you captain the -blam!- train with a fusion rifle, just speaking from experience. Looking to be the most competitive and aggressive, most solid load outs will have a solid shot gun. Seems lately that the cats pajamas load out consist of an exotic hand cannon/ exotic Pulse and the almighty Felwinter's lie. I abuse the invective and stood by this shotgun even tho it was an exotic but I failed and missed this last Iron Banner, I failed to acquire this one shot super range beast. My scores are typically high, I also have bs games because I'm dying tired and don't know when to stop or I play with my buddies from back home #nonemoreawful so I'm unhappy with the stats that are presented. #excuses now I'm just ranting. Basically I'm trying to say from the start I was obligated to use the shotgun, I did what I could to get the most from the shotgun, I lack any type of patience to wait around and crack heads with a sniper. Because of this I am not confident enough to run a solid score with anything other than a shotgun. Oh and Heavy Ammo, I live for heavy ammo.

It's very uncommon for me to use shotguns. But when I do I don't always rush. My play style is involved defensive(non-camping) with handcannons and sniper rifles. What I mean with defensive is no rushing. Seriously if I rush to an enemy I'm getting shotgunned, so I always keep a distance about at least 10 meters, this usually helps me get the shotgunner before they shredder me. I sometimes change the pace of sniper rifles and switch to a shotgun. Or sometimes use NLB and a fusion(I have overpowered fusions). All I look for is fun. And they serve me for it well.

I use scout rifle. It doesn't take more than a few shots headheight to do work

Hand cannons are op but require the most skill. When I first started using hawkmoon in crucible I was barely a 1 kd, now I've been around 2+ in the past three weeks. A scout can beat tlw at mid or longer range, high RoF pulse rifles stop hawkmoon, and any good far range player can stop thorn.

To keep things interesting i consistently use a variety of secondaries, but shotguns are fun in some crucible maps tho

2 RepliesEvery map is short-mid ranged except for Combined Arms (which is only available on random weekends). I make a lot more kills using snipers and the Thorn.

6 RepliesNot if you like winning. Also, learn not to run around in corridors like a teenager on redbull. You'll live longer. I swear, people that complain about getting killed are doing it wrong; focus on living, THEN focus on ending your opponents.
