Earned or Bought
The argument continues daily. But what is the correct way to get exotics. Personally, I bought mine with coins that I "Earned". If you get a lucky RNG then congrats, but do you deserve it any more? Let the voting decide.

This post has no valid point because in order to buy a weapon from xur you have to earn your strange coins. So you are earning the weapons or armor either way.

Who cares how they got it? You're worrying about someone that doesn't matter about something that hardly matters. My weapons are a mix of bought, random drops, and bounties. I've never thought about it in that sense because who cares? Caring about how others attain their items sounds like a serious personality flaw.

(This would be Xur) 2- Go to a mine, or river, work that area, and hope you get lucky and finds some. (Farming/grinding) Both ways are earning it by putting in work. One way is by physically getting it yourself, and the other way is working for money to buy it. Can we please drop at least this one argument, and argue about something important? Like how pie is greatly superior to cake.

A both option would be the best answer...because I have exotics from both and they are both yellow and I use them both at the same time. I don't favor one over the other.

There is no "Correct way" to get exotics which is why the people who claim they "earned" theirs an that Xur is welfare are ignorant nutcases. The fact we have to argue on a "Correct way" is retarded.

Some of the coins can be earned doing weekly heroic, others are lucky drops so buying weapons from Xur are partly earned. The only truly earned weapons or gear are the items you buy from grinding out reputation and vanguard/crucible marks since they are not based on luck. All these people claiming to have "earned" gear through dumb luck are idiots, it is like me claiming to have earned the 50 pence coin I found on the pavement on the way to the shop this morning. That being said however you get your gear doesn't matter, as long as it make my fireteam stronger I couldn't care less how people get their weapons.

I earned Pocket Infinity from an exotic bounty, and I got the Thunderlord as well as a second SUROS Regime from weekly nightfall strikes. There's a big variety of sources and I think they're all fine.

7 RepliesI refuse to vote because xur is bungies way to balance out the the unfair rng. Some people are really lucky, and they buy weapons from xur that's how it is. Either way you earn coins by doing activities or decryption and you earn stuff from the rng as well. This topic needs to just die in all opinion

9 RepliesIt makes even more sense if you compare it to legendary weapons. I got a legendary rocket launcher drop during pvp, if I bought it with marks then it would have cost 150 marks and taken over a week to earn provided I had the required rep. It takes a lot more time and effort to buy your gear.
