Is anyone able to make sense of the story?
I lost track about the time Peter Dinklage started talking about a long-dead Russian and his brain that defended Earth against dark things.
$50 to anyone who can explain the story without the rambling nonsense.

7 RepliesThe Traveler came to Earth and ushered in a golden age of knowledge and technology for humanity that lasted a few centuries. However the Traveler had an opposite, and enemy: the Darkness and its various factions. Humanity has been severely crippled in its fight against the Darkness and is now clinging to life. What you are referring to in the story is the last remaining earth defense AI called a warmind. Rasputin has adapted by tapping into systems all over the solar system, as you see evidence of him in a mission on Mars as well. I'll PM you my paypal account lol

4 RepliesI think that none of the actual groups in the game are evil, later down the road we will find out the traveler is the problem! How much you want to bet the traveler goes from solar system to solar system, makes a race depend on it, then leaves, right now the humans think they are protecting it while the cabal vex and others are trying to "save it" themselves, now I haven't beaten the main story yet but when I saw that the ghost was afraid of the awoken I had a feeling it was because they know what the traveler really is

1 ReplyThe Exo Huntress was talking to Rasputin. This would have been a lot harder to figure out if Bungie had made even the barest attempt at a segue. We uncover the existence of Rasputin, which we're told is the biggest news in recent memory. Then we utterly abandon that plot thread to go to the moon, where a Guardian we have no connection to has disappeared (as Guardians are wont to do, as evidenced by all the dead ghosts we've been picking up) without a single cotton-picking reason for doing so beyond "that's the only story mission available to you, and we won't let you uncover story material while on Patrol". This actually seemed reasonable to the writer. Which implies a strong connection between the two threads that has not yet been revealed. In the meantime, there's scheming at the reef. And evidently between the Houses of the Fallen as well.

Yes best prologue ever. Introduces all factions and storylines. Continues as events at later date. Nothing to understand until we get the rest.

Good space ball helps humans. Evil space aliens attack Sol. Good space ball saves us. Good space ball dies. Good mini space ball revives you. You kill evil space aliens. You kill evil space ball. Everything good...or not. And a bunch of other stuff hinted at in the Grimoire and during some missions.

So I have no idea what was up with rasputin. He doesn't come in to the story at all from what I can tell. Basically you go from the mission "the dark within" onwards to the moon. Most of those missions are all about weakening the hive and attacking them for attacking us, no story to them really. You then get a call from that exo lady and go to Venus. She tells you that there is a deep evil and the only way to stop it is by going to the black garden. You seek out the help of the awoken in the reef. That's where I am now.
