No public event drops!!!
So, I know Bungie just came out with a big patch, which is awesome, because bad juju sucks a bit less now (it's still a pretty bad gun...), but did they patch the public events too? I know that stuff is random, but last night instead of getting ascendant material in the post master, I got 1 mote of light for each character, and it was only the first time I did. The third, out of many (upwards of ten, probably about 12 to 15) I got one ascendant shard, but after that I hadn't received anything. If I were to combine this with my streak last night, which was no less than 12 as well, I have only received 4 pieces of ascendant material.
Is anyone else having this issue? Doing a lot of public events, but almost nothing in return for it? I mean, personally, that's at least 24 public events, with only 4 drops, and the first 3 drops were the first 3 public events I completed... I know it's all RNG, but seriously? I feel like the RNG needs to be upgraded. They've finally done so for leveling the cryptarc, but I highly doubt it's even noticeable (completely separate rant...)

1 Replypublic event rewards have gone to shit. Bungie have very purposely reduced the payout for ascendant shards in order to slow levelling of armor to slow players down. it is not a bug it is by design and it impacts players who solo the hardest... no more good strikes for non dlc, (capped at 24 and no good stuff) massively reduced payout from public events. new min 3 player scaling for weekly . added grind with commendations. doubled the number of engrams to rank up with the engram dude.. raised prices at the vanguard. stopped mats sales added additional currency stopped the exotic breakdown for ascendant shards. in fact bungie have done everything they can to -blam!- us over.

1 ReplyI'll get a reward every third event just about. Like 2 to 3 outta 7 usually is how I fair. It's kinda shitty where as when I started the game I dropped something every event.

4 RepliesI did a handful of events today across all three of my characters. Not one recieved a reward via mail. I do recall motes and ascendant materials dropped alot more, but it might just be coincidence. Tomorrow I'll probably test it out again unless I hear a real explanation. Bungie kill mail rewards?

But there must be a limit on that as I always get a couple at the beginning of the week and none after completing a few. Liked the previous (postmaster and random reward) version more, you got enough mote anyways with XP progress.

I'm assuming it was an intentional change. They probably want us to try to get Ascendant Material from the raid and Daily Heroics. Even though I do the Daily Heroics every day I can I'm sad that it is now not worth it to spend time farming from Public Events anymore. It will slow down my progression greatly. It's also hard to get enough people on a fireteam to even do the raid. None of my friends are leveled enough and we are on different schedules a lot.
