All these white kids dropping the N bomb
Am I the only one who runs into this all the time? I'm sick and tired of hearing, f**k you ni**a!" and "Watch me kill this Goblin b**ch, ni**a!" I don't care who you are, that bulls**t needs to stop. It doesn't make you sound cool. Just because there's no brothers out there in suburbia to call you out on it, doesn't make it okay.
Edit: Wow. Evidently there's a lot of real hate out there. It's honestly amazing how many people come running to the defense of bigots.
That being said, let's clear a few things up regardless.
Personally, I don't use the word and I don't think anyone should use it, even black people. That word put a face on extreme hatred and generations of severe oppression (some of which is still taking place). So, for everyone saying "it's just a word, get over it", you're wrong it's not "just a word". Just because it doesn't mean anything to you, doesn't mean, it doesn't represent a lot more than that to some people.
My grandfather sure thought it was more than a word when he was burglarized and beaten to death by a group of skin heads when he was 74 years old and had that word spray painted all over his house. So, if you'll excuse me it's not your call.
Secondly, yes, some black people use that word as a major part of their vernacular. As, I said before this word was the face of, and representative of some very dark times. So, if they choose to disempower it by using it as a term of endearment they can. Again, not anyone else's call to make.
Finally, yes, I did say "white" and no it is not stereotyping. I was referring to a group that picked me up off the forums for a raid the other day. It was fairly obvious they were white when they were saying things like, "suck my white d**k you ni**a bi**h" and "I'm gonna whip your a** like a slave". Unfortunately this is something I run into a lot, and I don't think anyone should have to put up with that. Hence the post.
Edit 2: Wow. I can't believe the amount of hate this has generated. I never would have guessed there would be such an overwhelming amount of support and justification for overt racism. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. People's true colors come out when they don't have to look you in the eye when the say something. So much for progress from the next generation. Sad.

It's little kids, regardless of race, that use it because they hear older generations using in some form or fashion whether as a so called term of endearment or a profane slur. I agree that no one should use it in any context. I'm guilty of ignoring it myself mostly because I've grown tired of being outrage and angered by the stupidity of others.

It's the internet. They (nor the people defending it) would say it to anyone's face outside of their closest social circles, or the internet, where there are no repercussions. That alone proves they know they are wrong, which is well enough for me. And as an adult white male with 3 children you can bet your ass the word won't leave their mouths. I believe in freedom of speech but I also believe in ethics and social decency.

You can't say it's ok for someone who's black to say it to downplay it's significance but nobody else. That's not how it works. Truth be told I hear white teenagers using it in that exact form all the time. Turning it from a slur into a generalized term to refer to one another. It annoys the crap outta me personaly. Point is you can't have it both ways. I apologize as a gamer if you were subject to abuse for your race but you have to take the high road brush it off and know in your own mind you're smarter and better than any bigot who thinks skin color defines a person.

If black people can use it so can everyone else. Otherwise saying the opposite is racist in and of itself. I personally just don't use it and neither should anyone else. But I find it really stupid when white people get shunned for using it while the black community can use it as much as they want

White, black, yellow or brown i really don't care. I use the word, black, asian, latino all use the word. I can't even listen to a rap/hip hop song without hearing the damn word. You are forgetting to take this generation into account. You also must understand the actual definition of the word is not what is culturally attached too. Yes, it has been used to slander your kind in days of old, but this is 2014. There is a black president after all it is not the same world it was in the past. I can understand your personal hatred for the word, and i'm sorry for your grandfather's unfortunate/untimely death. No one should have to be subjected to that, but that is the world we live in and unfortunately worst things happen every second. I don't think that you should just be blurting out random profanities whilst playing with randoms, that is just foolish. Everyone needs to stop being so damn politically correct and grow a backbone. Where i come from you won't last long if you can't take a few insults. What we need is a lot less b!tching and a whole lot more working.

If you do say it you should make an effort to stop. Just like me I say "fag" sometimes when I get mad in the crucible.
