You assume way too much about my involvement and diligence here. I watched the E3 conference for Destiny live. I followed Destiny's progress in-depth for close to a year pre-release. I also didn't purchase the DLC until after I'd begun playing the game, because I'd already been burned buying season passes for games I ended up not enjoying. Everything they tried to communicate, I definitely knew about it. I was made fully aware of the content being timed exclusive that I've already mentioned, but the very description of the post-release DLC doesn't even indicate that part of what I'm paying for will be withheld for a time period because of my console of choice. Had it been, adequately, I would have refused to pay for it until that were changed. I understand that exclusives are a big part of the gaming industry at this point, but withholding part of additional, inproportionately priced paid content and selecting favorites in that regard? I don't want to support that. Too bad I already have because they barely tried, if at all, to tell me exactly what I was purchasing before allowing me to purchase it.
Don't pretend it was common knowledge. If it were, there wouldn't be so many people who feel slighted by the DLC news specifically, compared to the content withheld at the game's release. Besides, you aren't as knowledgeable as you claim to be: Activision handles press releases and the like, not Bungie, and going as far as they could to give us information, as you put it, would be to put it in the goddamn item description when purchasing it. I "did my part", as you put it, and they pulled a bait-and-switch.
I'm just not sure why you're validating a shady decision by Activision based on perceived common knowledge that very clearly was not all that common, or publicly stated.
