The reason Playstation is getting more exclusives is because Sony paid bungie for it. Blame Microsoft for not trying to make their player base happy. Also, they are TIMED exclusives, meaning you'll get them too at some point, Sony just paid bungie to get them early. Edit: Someone asked for proof that we knew about the timed exclusive before release, here is your proof. (Video posted in august) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pp3-3oXiZyU Here is the website hosting it that was posted before the release. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-08-28-destinys-timed-exclusive-playstation-content-shown-off-in-new-footage Here is another website hosting it. http://www.polygon.com/2014/8/27/6075521/destiny-playstation-4-ps3-exclusives Here is one from June. http://www.polygon.com/2014/6/20/5827284/destinys-special-playstation-content-may-be-exclusive-until-fall-2015 Do your research before buying a game/gaming console, itll save you time and money, and less complaining on bungie's forums.

  • Timed exclusives that were not communicated before we purchased them. Xbox users were intentionally mislead and told afterward that part of what they're paying full price for will be withheld for a year. That's shady, at best.

  • No, not true at all. I work as an employee at GameStop and I actually informed our customers how xbox one will be missing out on exclusives for a while. I informed them that the exclusives were timed, but we don't know how long for. So we actually did know before hand, just a bit of research would tell you that.

  • We all knew about "content" from the pre- and vanilla-release. Nowhere-- and I've looked everywhere over the past couple days-- was it ever stated that paid DLC would have the same. I encourage you to find me even one link from before the recent announcement that states, explicitly, that portions of paid DLC will be timed exclusive as well.

I was not lying to you, there is your proof. There are TONS of articles and videos, just type a month before september and youll find them. PS. Even E3 mentioned the timed exclusives, youve GOT to be kidding me when you say you 'didn't know.'

Two things: 1) You found what I'd been looking for. Your third link was the first one to actually say, explicitly:
PlayStation-exclusive content is also planned in Destiny's first two expansions.
Because of that, I admit defeat. 2) I think you're still misunderstanding despite the fact that you found it. Sony stated that they would have timed exclusive content in pre-release content, console bundles, and disc-based content. Everyone knew about that. What wasn't communicated, either in the product description or in advertisements or even in the press conferences showing off Destiny, was that the optional additional content that would be up for sale before it was even fully detailed or released would also have timed exclusive content. Before that Polygon link, I have never once seen or heard anything, ever, about paid DLC also giving Sony timed kickbacks. If they'd properly communicated that, I wouldn't have purchased it in advance, because that's bullshit. Considering that one link is the first time I've ever seen it mentioned, they clearly didn't go out of their way to inform anybody.

I linked you a select few of hundreds of articles, just because its the first time youve seen it doesnt mean that is the only time it's come up. This is why I said to do your research, not everything is going to be clean cut and easy to find for you. E3, youtube, articles, keeping up with bungie. Also, buying the season pass before knowing whats in it isnt a very good idea either. You bought the season pass before you actually had destiny in your system and installed, of course you had no idea what was going to be in it. I admit I have made some mistakes myself, like I bought the season pass for watchdogs before actually playing all the way through and finding out what was in the pass, but thats only because I didnt research. This is all something that could have been avoided, and there is really no one to blame. Bungie would be sued up the ass if they didnt tell people about before hand, thats just bad marketing. Bungie is obligated to tell people about those exclusives. . Edit: Also, lets be honest here, there are almost no game commercials ever, unless youre on a specific channel FOR games, you have to be on the bungie site or a gaming forum to find out any info about destiny, or in gamestop. If you are not apart of the gaming community, youd know literally nothing about anything when it comes to games. Bungie did go far to give us this information, as far as they could, but we need to do our part on the other side.

  • You assume way too much about my involvement and diligence here. I watched the E3 conference for Destiny live. I followed Destiny's progress in-depth for close to a year pre-release. I also didn't purchase the DLC until after I'd begun playing the game, because I'd already been burned buying season passes for games I ended up not enjoying. Everything they tried to communicate, I definitely knew about it. I was made fully aware of the content being timed exclusive that I've already mentioned, but the very description of the post-release DLC doesn't even indicate that part of what I'm paying for will be withheld for a time period because of my console of choice. Had it been, adequately, I would have refused to pay for it until that were changed. I understand that exclusives are a big part of the gaming industry at this point, but withholding part of additional, inproportionately priced paid content and selecting favorites in that regard? I don't want to support that. Too bad I already have because they barely tried, if at all, to tell me exactly what I was purchasing before allowing me to purchase it. Don't pretend it was common knowledge. If it were, there wouldn't be so many people who feel slighted by the DLC news specifically, compared to the content withheld at the game's release. Besides, you aren't as knowledgeable as you claim to be: Activision handles press releases and the like, not Bungie, and going as far as they could to give us information, as you put it, would be to put it in the goddamn item description when purchasing it. I "did my part", as you put it, and they pulled a bait-and-switch. I'm just not sure why you're validating a shady decision by Activision based on perceived common knowledge that very clearly was not all that common, or publicly stated.

  • It is nice that you informed people about the timed exclusives, but most people didn't say anything. They just sold it not telling anyone. If more people actually informed others about the timed exclusives, you would have a better case.

  • Well, its not our job to inform people. If you plan on spending 60$ on something, do your research, its on you for not doing so.No one to blame but yourself. I would never buy a game until I knew what I was buying. Why do you think I went with ps4? I knew about how good Sony had it over Microsoft for games.

  • Well, I may be one of the few gamers who does their research before purchasing a game and it's season passes? Because I knew for a long time before release about the timed exclusives.
