LMAO! "expansion pack"
This is the worst excuse for an "expansion" I've ever seen!
Hahaha all the kids who've been telling me "it's an mmo, grow over time, be patient, 10 year plan! Blah blah blah!"
No new areas
1 new "character" at the tower which only gives you THREE story mission! Have fun defending Dinklage 3 more times.
3 new maps! Ha! Most games give that many for free!!!! (Gears of war, the last of us, killzone...)
If you're on Xbox, ONE STRIKE!?
And a raid, the only decent part of the game. Oh and the level cap raise and new gear is just the new raids gear. Not like their actually adding depth to game. These couple light levels won't actually make your character any better. It's just a way to force you to grind more!
All for $20? That's a third of the price of a brand new game. If you want to see a real expansion take a look at the elder scrolls, or dark souls which is half the price.
The story and strike(s) will take like an hour or two...

No one could have said it better. At this point, Destiny is a lost cause and I don't think it could ever be saved unless Bungie gave us a years worth of "expansions" for free then I'd think about the game more in a somewhat positive manner. But I can honestly say, I might quit this game around December for better games.

TES III: Morrowind Game of The Year Edition, represent! Best game ever. Unopened case is like $20 or less, easily.

1 ReplyThe game is thin, the DLC is thin, but I still somewhat enjoy it. Black Friday is bringing a PS4. Unless they maniacally pump quite a bit more content into the DLC, I can't guarantee that Destiny won't be gathering some dust.

5 RepliesBethesda would have called it DLC, not an expansion. They KNOW how to do expansions. Gearbox would have referred to it as a headhunter pack. Square Enix wouldn't even release something described like that as paid content. They'd probably add as a free update. CD Projekt Red would have released it with the original game. Capcom would have repackaged the original game with the DLC and if you wanted the DLC you'd have to re-buy the whole game at the full selling price. See Dragon's Dogma / Dark Arisen for reference.

13 RepliesIMO there are three ways to do something like this: A) subscription fee where no content is added between expansions. Expansions are rather big. B) no subscription fee, you pay only for the game and DLC/expansions, which are small im comparision to A C) free to play or a lot of free stuff, coupled with micro-transactions It seems Destiny falls into B), which is ok for me if the stuff there giving us is good, after the Interview with Harold Ryan (hope I got the name right) I have hopes that the story will be better...

Its such a waste all due to greed. Plus, wheres the big patch they announced 3 weeks ago and why would you announce IB on friday if you werent going to activate it the next tuesday. 3 weeks with pretty much nothing to do on a game like this is a shame. This is the first DLC and its right before christmas, it should be way bigger than this. Now im left wondering what the other dlcs contain? 2 more levels each time? This is pretty much it. I guess i just expected more.

Even harder raid (because of the Hive are anything like we've seen in Nightfall, its going to be crazy with all the wizards, thralls and knights running around) and more areas to explore!! I'm pretty excited about this!! No matter what you bitter, never leave the forums, kids say...we are going to have a good ol time. More than likely, we'll see you there!!

18 RepliesI am seriously over the politics involved in gaming. I could type for hours about how emotionally drained I am about the game and the forums. Thank God for November's releases. AC Unity, AC Rogue, Far Cry 4 and Dragon Age: Inquisition are my pre orders. And when they come, I will hide Destiny into the far corners of my game collection. Shame on you Bungie, shame on you.
