Destiny has so much going for it. It's gorgeous. The combat mechanics are great. It has a little bit of everything for different tastes.
The problem, imo, is there lacks a strong narrative to tie everything together. To give us a sense of who/what/why. There's really no purpose to it all, which is such a waste considering Destiny has the tools, unlike every other generic FPS out there, to be something special.

At this point, there are so many scatterbrained subplots I really don't know how DLC can sort through the mess. [b]EDIT 1: [/b] And to those who argue that "Destiny is a 10 yr plan, give it time, etc." I think its pretty common knowledge that if you're planning a story with any type of longevity, each "episode" needs to have its own story arc / resolution regardless of the main plot. Examples: Star Wars IV: Death star destroyed. Harry Potter 1: Sorcerer's stone saved. Etc, etc. With Destiny? We have no idea what the point was...
