Questions For Fellow Titanbros
Any of my fellow titanbros have trouble going back to striker once you get used to defender? For example, I play defender in PvE and striker in PvP. But yesterday I found myself in control matches trying to hulk everything and I just couldn't get into the groove. Then I realized I missed my smash disco. So I switched over defender and almost immediately started having a better time introducing my fist to the faces of many foes.
Second question. What you all think about an all Titan clan? I'm thinking of starting one called Titanbros or House of Smash or something like that.

I like Titanbros. Has a laid back, but serious sound. On the topic of Supers, I did the same with Defender (PvE) and Striker (PvP). Recently I started playing Defender in PvP Control matches. It was fun jumping in with Fist of Havoc and getting kills. But watching people try and decide if they want to run into your Ward of Dawn while you have a shotgun over your shoulder is much more gratifying!

I max toughness and agility with codices, then try to synergize as best as I can pursuant to different playstyles. I've come up with two variants on Striker. The first form relies on the notorious shoulder charge. There's a heavy reliance on premeditation and deliberate timing with a dash of twitch reflex in execution. Definitely grab a flashbang to help you ensure landing the first hit, letting a shotgun blast followed by Transfusion seal the deal on secondaries. I take Overload in lieu of the other options here for more potential staying power. You'll want an Intelligence/Strength gear set and a familiar Shotgun, bringing along a Scout Rifle, Pulse Rifle, or Hand Cannon to ward off mid-range threats. The second form focuses on aggressive terrain denial, pairing up AoE grenades with the perks that amplify them. Death From Above needs Unstoppable for the extra resist while you're up in the air lining up your shot. Helm of Inmost Light synergizes exceptionally well with this playstyle, allowing you to add Shockwave and intentionally landing farther away from your intended targets, projecting damage while staying out of harm's way. Mop up whoever's left with an Auto Rifle or Fusion Rifle. Intelligence/Discipline work well. (Int/Str gear is the staple of New Monarchy while Int/Dis is found with Future War Cult)

3 RepliesI go defender for everything, Striker grenades are just awful. I need my sticky nades for pvp. Plus sitting in the bubble is just so much fun.

I love defender and find that it has higher survivability in high level pve. Anytime I do nightfall or raid, it's defender all the way. During pvp or strike Playlist I'll switch between both.

4 RepliesI prefer striker. Once you learn to gauge your super damage FoH is amazing in pve and makes me feel like a Norse god. Transfusion on storm fist gives excellent survivability in a variety of situations and I like the grenades better. Defender is very useful and has some excellent abilities but I only use it when I absolutely have to because I love striker so much.

I use the defender for everything now. Mainly due to the fact that I take on more powerful enemies but even in PvP I use it because you can throw up the ward of dawn and box people for days or solely hold a position in control. To me it's more useful.

I joined an in progress Control match the other day and was delighted to see a mix of Striker and Defender Titan brothers on my team. The other team had one Defender Titan, the rest Hunters and Warlocks. The Titan was a good player. He dropped his Smash Bubble at the Control Point...I know the tactic well. I thought "Hey! I'm a Defender, too. I should put aside my thirst to kill the enemy. He is, after all, a Titan brother. Surely there is room in the bubble for two of us. We will be the ultimate dance crew!!" I stepped inside, hopeful as child...and ate the business end of his shotgun. He pointed....then he danced...pointed...danced...over and over in fluid repetition. ... I died a lil inside.

I definitely prefer Defender, but thats just because it fits my playstyle. I may switch to whatever the third sublcass is, just because its most likely going to do solar damage, and I like fire lol. But if I don't like it, I can always switch back to my Bubble Buddy

I agree, but both classes have good parts to them. Defender can save your life with a shield when surrounded, but so can a room clearing super, it's all situational as well as a preference. In regards to an all titan clan. Meh

I love both subclasses, though I usually play defender but when I get angry I put on my polar oak shader and start smashing

I like striker better, I can be more aggressive with it rather than sit around the Ward of Dawn. >Run at enemies, take damage >shoulder charge >transfusion, maybe some more damage >use a shotgun (invective) on enemies (I've only used Bungie shotguns aka shotguns with radius of 2 feet like in halo) >storm fist, more transfusion >every thing is usually dead at this point so... [b]RANDOM DANCING[/b] Defender: >set up a bubble base or when health is low (cause health auto regens after using the super) >pop out, shoot some enemies with weapons of light >pop back in, get another buff >maybe punch a dreg for an overshield (though I think defender titans need to get an overshield just from hitting an enemy) >rinse, repeat, all without leaving my bubble sweet bubble #bubblecamp

Im having trouble going back to stricker, too love my bubble in pve and my sticky granedes in pvp, although the fist of havok and super melee attack were great, i rely a lot in my grenades , and the sticky ones r just great! Now im waiting for the third sub class, but dont think it will substitute the defender class unless it gets one hit kill grenades in pvp, and a decent enough super...

Since I started to use Defender in PvP as well as PvE I haven't even touched Striker.

i prefer striker cause a litte bubble is pathetic. one hulk smash and your bubble is like oprah's huge fat ass and your dead as if chuck came and bitched slapped you for your incompetence.

I played almost exclusively defender for quite a while, but with my new Armamentarium armor I've been feeling more like a striker than ever.

I hadn't played Striker for weeks. I tried to Superman punch a bunch of mobs in nightfall and got roflstomped. Promptly went back to defender and continued loving life.

1 ReplyBoth subclasses have their uses. I have no trouble switching between them. I have to admit that I've jumped into the middle of a large group of enemies and popped a bubble only then realizing I did not have striker on. It usually results in an embarrassing death.

I learn to play both classes in both styles. Try to find what the team needs more at the time and adjust as needed.
