SERIOUS QUESTION FOR BUNGIE.

My question is as follows: What is your response to the hundreds (thousands?) of players who have constant disconnects while playing destiny, the same players who HAVE NO OTHER ISSUES PLAYING ANY OTHER ONLINE GAME OR APP, WHATSOEVER? I'm not interested in your response to gamers who have general connectivity issues with all of their online pursuits. I'm only interested in what you have to say to the GAMERS WHOSE TROUBLES ARE EXCLUSIVE TO THIS GAME AND THIS GAME ALONE. Obviously, this question is rhetorical, as Bungie does not respond to issues that logically implicate their servers. I'm just blowing off steam, since there's no other recourse for the gamers whose experiences are consistently crippled by this broken game.

  • I have to agree with you. I constantly get Caterpillar, hawk and every other network error code. I know for a fact that it has nothing to do with my network set up as I have a degree in the field and also every other on-line game I have (COD black ops II and Ghost, Borderlands etc.) works perfectly fine. I have contacted my ISP and they too found nothing wrong on their end. So i cannot play Destiny and enjoy it because of this constant issue of getting kicked out. Your move Bungie!

    Hey, I was in the same boat, and I'm MOSTLY out of it, now. I've got an Ubee 365 hardwired to my XBOX 360. TWC 30mb. Since I started the game and for weeks up until yesterday, I'd get booted every 5-10 minutes with an occasional half hour spree. Mostly Caterpillar errors, with some "disconnected from partner" and disconnects from XBOX Live mixed in. Maybe got 2 Hawks, too. I tried every fix I read about, and spoke extensively with my ISP's tech support and with XBOX Live's. Ended up with a static ip on my XBOX and having it set to DMZ in the modem. Couple days ago I also switched the DNS setting in my XBOX to manual and started using Google's (8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4). I still get occasional disconnects, mostly in the tower or crucible, but I can finally finish missions/strikes and go a few hours uninterrupted. Hope this helps. By the way, I'm not blaming people's internet connections-this is Bungie's f@ck up, here. I'm just saying, you may be able to adjust your setup to better deal with it.       • I've commented on so many threads because of this, even made my own. I don't even have anything new to add... I'll just post in every thread...and everybody should do this too. If they got the time to nerf guns etc before making the game enjoyable for everyone, then something is going wrong. This should be the highest priority to the whole Bungie crew. Just look at the guys who are constantly working on the issues with DriveClub. They at least keep the people up to date and post regularly about everything that is being done and already threw out a couple of patches just to resolve the problem. Not to mention that they actually want to give people something ingame as an apology. I don't even want a gift or dlc or anything, I just want to play the entire game. Only thing I can play is crucible, since I completed the story already. I always get booted during strikes. And after an entire month, I really think that this is getting ridiculous. You guys say you're working on it, but the last patch made it even worse...I start questioning that you're really putting in the effort you should. To fully solve all the errors is a little too much to ask I guess. But at least make that people can enjoy the game for an hour or two before getting an error. Then I could actually live with it. It sucks that I have to come to your forums on a daily base, not to talk about the game itself, but about the frustration it's causing me and, apparently, many other gamers. It's sad...And definitely the first and last time I preorder a game from Bungie.

          • So a few things. First, I am getting constant errors and straight disconnects from Xbox live. The game was working great for a while and then blam all of a sudden it doesn’t work anymore. I have an above average high speed connection with Comcast, so the problem is certainly not on my side. All other games work great on Live. I have had trouble now for about 4 days. I expect a legendary or exotic item for each day that I have not had service at the least. Second, I am actually writing this first in word because of the trouble I have had posting on forums. I posted something before when their servers were bogus and it seems as though there is now a cookie on my primary browser which disallows me from posting on the forums. I am attempting to post this using a different recently installed browser. Hmmm. Bungie yet again shows how completely incapable they are of managing their own product. If this problem is still around tomorrow, I will be out forever from Destiny and any other game Bungie ever produces. I will also talk trash about Bungie and any game they create to all of my gaming buddies as if their products are tainted and unfit for consideration. There are too many other big gaming studios making high quality games that actually work for people to put up with this kind of crap. If I were one of the executives at the company, I would make sure someone’s head rolled for this. Totally unacceptable.

              I've had no problems till this update. Really annoying. Can't finish a single strike now. Gonna try a 5th time before i give up

              • Cant wait til Advanced Warfare comes out...this game is becoming a non stop headache and a joke...we were not informed we would have to pay for bungies beta...and this is what it amounts to...error...report...fix....new error...repeat 999999999 mote times...worst experience ever...wish i had bought a hard copy so i could sell this sad excuse for a game

              • Yeah the last few days have been horrific!! Constant disconnects with mainly the caterpillar. Error code!! What have u done to this game bungie it's been a disaster these last few days!! Can't play on xbox 360 for longer than 5 mins till it ktos me!!! Was just at the bloody end of the lvl 28 weekly and this happens!! NOT HAPPY AT ALL THIS NEEDS TO B SORTED IMMEDIATELY!!!!

                  • Have to pick up that thread. Cant play anymore, no match lasts longer than 3 minutes until disconnect.... Seriously its not our ISPs, its your game since the last patch. Do something.

                      All was well and fine until couple of days ago and now I'm getting caterpillar,zebra and ducking bee. I'm not on any college campus either and my Internet is absolutely fine on any other game I play

                      So here's my issue... Got the game a week ago. Played last Monday night with no issues, probably about 4-5 hours of gameplay. Generally enjoyed myself. Then, for the rest of last week I got the CONSTANT disconnections. Bee, Lion, Fly, Anteater, Zebra, Flatworm...if the error exists, I got it. At best I could stay connected for about 30 minutes at a time; most often, I'd get booted after 2-5 minutes of gameplay. After three days of off & on trying with the same results, I put the game away for a while. Yesterday, I decided to give it another shot, and lo and behold: 4 hours of continuous, uninterrupted gameplay without a single disconnect. This on a Sunday afternoon/evening Eastern US time, when I figure it'd be busier than normal. "Great!", I think, "They fixed it!" Wake up this morning at 3am (I work nights, my schedule is weird) and give it another shot...nope, back to playing for 5 minutes at a time. Literally, NOTHING has changed with my setup. Same router, same location, same usage from other devices, same freaking appliances turned on. Yet, somehow, the change in time-space which occurred between prime time Sunday and Oh-Dark-Thirty Monday morning has once again rendered the game unplayable to me. Doesn't matter what I'm doing in-game: missions, patrols, crucible, or just hanging out in orbit--the best I managed was 20 minutes. The worst, it literally disconnected me as I was choosing a destination. My PSN connection was 100% stable during this whole ordeal, as was my internet connectivity (and speed) on the PC. If anyone has any suggestions, other than completely re-wiring a setup which is clearly already working, I'd love to hear them.

                      • Yes. Connection is always fine with all other games and apps. Offer up, at a bare minimum, the CAUSE of the error codes. It's so simple, my computer has a 2 digit led readout to troubleshoot my motherboard. Once you have the number, they don't say "blah blah, we are looking into it" they have a sheet which lists all the reasons for all the codes. That way I don't waste hours trying every possible network configuration trying to find one which works, and repeating this process every time there is a patch is absurd, especially when I get the same errors directly hooked up to my modems, I have a docsis 2 and 3 so that's not the issue. Just give us some information and quit the "our magic networking animals don't like your xbox aura" mysticism.

                              welp looks like im gonna join in here to since my threads haven't gotten any answers either woo from bee to lions now moving up the food chain, and wow zebra fk see im not on a college campus and my internet is beast i haven't had an issue at all till 3 days ago i have done all the trouble shooting, port forwarding and everything just bee, fly, lion, occasionally zebra ect!!! still nothing resolved same shit different day

                                tu dois avoir une bande passante qui n'ai pas assez régulière tu peu avoir du 100 Mg mais si ta bande passante fait du yoyo c'est mort tu auras des déco toutes les 5 min. j'ai eu les même soucis de connexion à la sortie du jeu et encore des milles-pattes sur les jours qui suivais donc correctifs ouverture de ports sur le firewall de ma box toujours le même soucis donc j'ai changer de fournisseur internet et depuis plus aucun soucis, l'ancienne opérateur me fournissais du débit mais ils était en sous location sur les DSLAM du fournisseur Orange. surtout vérifie bien que tu as une bonne bande passante.

                                • They have responded. Nearly all of the people unable to play have been found to be on college campuses and the internet providers have destiny listed as something bad or something like that and will soon be fixed hopefully. Then bungie can focus on the rest of players who can't play then focus on bringing us updates

                                    • Posting because my centipedes turned into zebras but I still have problems, I wish I knew the problem was on my end so I could do something but my box is dmZ'd on a reserved IP and it's hard wired and everything else works So I'm not about to go out and buy a new modem because I'm not convinced it will solve my issue I just wish they would post fixes other than "we are investigating" I've had the problem for almost a month but it's been rebranded Zebra instead of centipede
