A radar dot, a marker via the ghost and perhaps a brighter glow might help.
Also, if all missed items went to the postmaster that would solve it all easily without adding anything.
Most of it already does. I think the best stuff always go to the postmaster, so you shouldn't really miss much.

I think that would be a good idea and all but I think it should be a slight punishment for missing them. Any missed items that weren't picked up before leaving the area should be turned into glimmer, in lesser amount that you would get out of dismantling them. It should be a habit if you killed someone for loot, you better damn well look and eye out for some!
