People using the "Magic is technology we don't understand." or "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." are taking these quotes way out of context. There is indeed a difference within Sci Fi and Fantasy universes, some authors blend them and point out that there is a difference. Those that "blend" them and try explain it scientifically nulls it which results in it not being magic to begin with. Marvel is a good example of both being present in the same universe. Look at Scarlet Witch and Magik, they are both Mutants (Science) but they both use magic as well. Then you have Silver Surfer (Science) and Thor (Magic). These are a few examples.
