People using the "Magic is technology we don't understand." or "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." are taking these quotes way out of context.
There is indeed a difference within Sci Fi and Fantasy universes, some authors blend them and point out that there is a difference. Those that "blend" them and try explain it scientifically nulls it which results in it not being magic to begin with.
Marvel is a good example of both being present in the same universe. Look at Scarlet Witch and Magik, they are both Mutants (Science) but they both use magic as well. Then you have Silver Surfer (Science) and Thor (Magic). These are a few examples.

BEAUTIFULLY said. Marvel and DC's wonderful blend of science-fantasy, where there are examples of shades/ blends between them, and also examples of far extremes is one of the awesome draws of the two as mainstream comics. Personally, though, I wouldn't call The Power Cosmic "science" per se. That's a weird area that I don't think quite fit into one or the other.

But in destiny the two are intertwined they said that magic comes from the traveller which is far superior in technology so in the case of destiny technology brings forth magic your logic is flawed

Think of it has a Wizard harnessing magic using a staff, wand or some sort of relic (Book of Thoth, Pandora's Box, Mjolnir, etc.).

Given the unknowns that go into magic, there isn't a whole lot of reason to believe that the Traveler, while composed of technological components, isn't genuinely imbued/ is with some sort of magical power source, carries a magical power source, or otherwise magical in nature to some extent. Personally, I suspect it exists as a dead space god of sorts.

Well it's symbolism is based off an Egyptian god so that would be quite expected! I expect them to take a different route with the traveller IMO
