Bungie Please give ALL classes grapple when Prismatic launches

Ever since the reveal of Strand grapple I have dreamt of combining it with blink During the legend campaign of Lightfall I was able to do so by equiping blink before enabling Strand via the nodes in the campaign and it was the MOST fun I've ever had with mobility tech I was horrified when I unlocked Strand for real at the end of the campaign and learned that blink wasn't not a jump option Fast forward to the Final Shape dev stream & the reveal of Prismatic, my hopes for blink grapple were high as you described combining different aspects of dark and light Yet once again with the release of the developer insight blog post my dreams were shattered as the ability showed that only Hunters would have acces to the grapple grenade Yes I could switch to playing Hunter in order to blink grapple however I'm not a fan of the other Hunter tech So I urge you please, PLEASE enable the grapple grenade on all classes when Prismatic launches Sincerely - a very sad warlock

    • Nope. Titans are still suspend/rendering things immobile gods in Prismatic, Warlocks are still Threading/buddy gods and Hunters???? DPS? Mobility/tactical repositioning? A bit of a jack of all trades because they can do a bit of everything? Adaptability. That's the word I'm looking for. Adapting, using everything to their advantage. Grapple fits perfectly in that. Leave it with the Hunters. Also, fun fact, Grapple originally started out as a pure Hunter only ability in concept so it just makes sense they'd retain it. And of all the classes grappling, literally never see Warlocks grappling, for the same reason Hunters pretty much never use threading grenades. Titans yes, with very melee focused builds, but pretty much only for that. Hunters, in strand currently (would less apply to Prismatic as the Prismatic Hunter doesn't get widow's silk aspect) make more use of of grapple both offensively and defensively. It makes more sense. Example, I use grapple to get out of an unfavourable situation and give myself a quick reload of weapons and woven mail to put myself in a more favourable defensive situation wherever I land. I also use it offensively to throw trangles and ride the throw into distant combat while being protected in flight by the woven mail, and then when it lands, my tangle is already spinning off, picking off enemies while I deal with any it doesn't, again, with reloaded weapons and whatever remains of my woven mail. Could be the people I play with and watch, but I never see Titans or Warlocks using grapple with unpredictability that way.

On one hand, yeah this would be cool, but on the other hand, the only way that prismatic is EVER going to be balanced is if each subclass only gets certain abilities, and making it so only hunter gets grapple means that hunters regain some of their identity as the mobile class. If they give warlocks grapple, titans have to get it too, and probably they start having to add even more abilities until we hit the point where every class can use everything, and the fact that they can't is going to be the only thing keeping the older subclasses useful in any situation.

      • Im glad bungie specifically chose certain combinations to not break the game. Having blink with grapple on a hunter would be a nightmare. But I do get where you are coming from, it would be insanely fun to pair them together.

          • They prob will tbh. Maybe not right away but over time. Would be an amazing idea if that was the like post campaign stuff. Quests to unlock subclass combos. Like kill void debuffed enemies with stasis weapons to get telemetry. Then kill frozen or slowed enemies with void weapons to do the same. Now kill this boss and bam you get that combo.

Grapple is the only reason I use strand on my warlock because I love it so much, but I hate the super and I always really excited to be able to use a roaming super with grapple. Shame I wont be able to do that now. Please for the love of god bungie, give us grapple on all classes 🙏🙏🙏

          • That's actually really stupid. Why would they choose Strand to have transcendent synergy with Void and not give it all of the base parts of strands appeal? The compatibility is already programmed into the game too as you've noticed in the campaign with blink equipped. Ugh.

          • Grapple has such a short cooldown that it would probably be too broken with the bleak watcher aspect for them to do that.

            • They could also just add blink to all warlock subclasses. Outside of Solar maybe, since it has an air-dash and dive already.

            • As someone who plays all characters and has been a switch between titan and warlock main this year, grapple should be a hunter only on prismatic. Warlocks are looking pretty broken with the combos listed and I'm loving it but tossing in grapple too would dilute the identity of the mobile class further. As for Titans, it's going to be amazing as well with the frenzied blades and consecration combo. Hunters is still something I'm concerned about but still think it'll be fun af.

              • Nah, I like the idea of bringing identity back to each class. Having separate abilities per each class is nice. I like each class having their own set roles in the scheme of things, like it’s a titan’s job to sustain the team ahead stun enemies, while it’s a Hunter’s job to take out mini-bosses and other larger foes. And it’s a Warlock’s job to nuke basic and major fodder, and provide a clear path forward for the other two. Having identity is what makes playing *your* class fun. Personally, I love the idea of having an ability that the other two classes can’t achieve. And I bet the other two classes are the same.

                • It’s probably balanced so all 3 classes can benefit from each other. Always wait to try the way the game play is designed first; you might like it the way it already is🤷‍♂️ My two glimmer….

                • I guess they don't want players combining abilities that go outside of their class "purpose" call it. Hunters are supposed to be fast. Titans are supposed to be heavy. Warlocks... Erm... You sit around and read books all day. Maybe you're the intellectuals. "Oh, great, they're doing something stupid again. Welp, someone needs to be the smart one.” I'm sure there's at least an acceptable reason for this. For now, keep crying. I need salt for my fries... Oh, and maybe it'll convince Bungie to do something about it, but mostly for my fries. 🍟🧂

Yes I literally had the exact same thought as soon as I saw the ability tables lol Same goes for Glacier grenades too tbh. They’re in the same vein of “tool” abilities.
