Balancing PvE grind with PvP balance: Inspiration from MasterXMaster

Skip to idea if you just want to hear my suggestion and don't care about master x master. First of all, I've only played maybe 20 hours of master x master. I'm only mentioning it because I think they hit a sweat spot with pve/pvp balance. What it did was make it so you spent currency you earned from doing PvE activities on leveling up abilities. Doing so would make those abilities more powerful the next time you took that character into a PvE mission. However, when you did PvP, it reset everything to zero and did the standard MOBA thing (kill, get exp, level up, etc.). The abilities were the same in both modes, but what you did in one didn't effect the other. IDEA: Give weapons this "ideal state" that the gun wants to be in for legendary and exotic weapons. However, when you get the weapon things are locked or sub-par. Using the weapon (or maybe spending glimmer as well) gets the weapon to it's max potential. However, should you take that weapon into PvP, the game will pretend that weapon is at max potential. This way PvE players need to grid to get that gun ready for PvE, but if they just got it they can still use it in PvP. Only PvE has the grind.

 • My suggestion is to have the perks unlocked with an 'Upgrade Token' that you get by completing an Adventure. This would make Adventure's relevant. A gun with 5 perks would require you to grind 5 adventures.
