When you're playing Clash, then all you have to worry about is getting a good K/D and the W. However when you're playing Control/Zone Control/Rift it's the OBJ. The question is, are you willing to go full Leeroy Jenkins to prevent a cap/dunk the spark/cap a point?
I looked at my profile the other day and saw that while my K/D wasn't anything for MOM to grab the camera for, I was at least getting a lot of caps and control preventions. I've gone full Leeroy and I can tell you, that even though you may die and get some Warlock Lipton Service, it's worth it if you're team capitalizes on the strike and makes the play. However when you go in, prevent the cap/almost make the cap only to see a blueberry just stroll on by looking for another kill, it makes me want to reach through the interwebz and choke him with his ethernet cable. I'll leave it at that as Micless Blueberries is another topic entirely and would take pages without end to thoroughly vent upon.
So for the TLDR crowd:
To Leeroy, or not to Leeroy, that is the question:
Whether 'tis Nobler in the mind to suffer
The Slings and Arrows of outrageous Fortune,
Or to take Arms against a Sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them: to die, to sleep
No more

I would hardly say that control is an objective game type. Sure it's important to take and control zones, but getting kills is more important. You could theoretically win a game without capping a single zone, but you'll never win by solely capping zones. On the other hand, in games like zone control and rift, throw yourself at the objective if it means preventing a cap/spark ignite, even if it kills you.
