[b]Xur needs to sell Exotic Shards again.[/b] With the one and only source of an exotic shard being breaking down a live exotic, that is very counter-productive. It leads to sacrifices and honestly, its not really necessary. There was NO need to nerf that economy what so ever.
I know i'm not alone here guardians, and this is not on Cozmo's community wish list. IF we can get it at least on the wishlist, that would be cool. A start is a start
Edit:Also I think an exotic should count as a shard. So if your infusing 1 exotic into another exotic, that satisfies the shard requirement

Dismantling gives you a shard.....infusing dismantles a weapon so if using an exotic to infuse an exotic, the dismantling process should give the shard too apply in the infusion not take an extra one. I can understand needing one IF you're using a legendary to infuse an exotic since the legendary doesn't contain one. ALSO my biggest gripe........when you use an exotic to infuse a legendary, you should GET a shard instead of using one.....legendaries don't contain exotic shards so it should be left over from the process

3 RepliesI have the feeling that maybe there isn't enough data to put exotic shards back in there without replacing it with something else. I mean, this isn't the only thing that this has happened with. Look at the gunsmith, there are no more primary synths being sold.

I used to have an issue with this, but shards are less of a problem for me. Now I just buy a ton of 3 of coins and always use them. I almost never infuse my exotics, I mostly shard them if I already have them. If I get a new item at a higher light, I shard the older item and get 2 shards, or I just use my motes to charge the item and then dismantle and get 2 shards.

2 RepliesPeople need to stop using the "I have like *insert number here* saved up". Does not matter. This doesn't effect you in any way then. Let people get their exotic shards from Xur. And, people should stop mentioning the idea of getting two shards by going into your blueprint. That's too much glimmer and motes being wasted on. Plus, if your RNG is shit, it's hard to get duplicate exotics nowadays.

Dismantle exotic (makes 2 exotic shards). Rinse and repeat as required. Whats so hard? To be fair this is not a problem for me as I am currently down to only 170+ exotic shards.

Dude, grind Challenge of the Elders. I have two Lord of Wolves, and about 5 Queenbreaker Bows, though just one Dreg's Promise. ...do kind of agree that if I'm gonna use one of those (or another Exotic) to level up my Black Spindle I shouldn't need another shard on top of that, but I'm not hurting for them.

If this is a thing I'm not here to say anyone else is wrong....but with all the duplicate exotics I get from 3oC drops, I'm always sitting on at least 70 or so exotic shards at any time. Just isn't an issue for me. However, I wouold LOVE to see us be able to do something else with them. Like rank up a Xur/Agent of the 9 reputation or something. Or cash in for other faction rep. But the rep award should be significant. Just my $0.02.

Dude! Buy an exotic heavy weapon (they upgrade faster), blow through a handful of motes to unlock it's perks (you don't need to buy the perk just unlock it to where you could) dismantle the weapon and get 2 shards which will be a +1 gain. Easy.
