Trouble Ticket System for Destiny

The current method for providing information to Bungie about bugs experience in game play is on a public forum. I understand that Bungie wants everyone to know what each other is experiencing in order to condense the load by players commenting on the tread, aka guardians helping guardians. The issue of the public forum is it becomes kind of salty, a lot of abusive comments are directed at a person mentioning a problem in the "player experience." Being it is over the internet several get very brave with their remarks because they know a direct encounter is not likely and they are safe behind their computer screen. A player reporting a bug in the game play are being subject to experiencing endless trolls and aggressive harassment. This in turn could make players gun shy about reporting a potential issue with the game and is actually impeding Bungie's ability to learn more about issues players experience during game play. Providing the potential negative impact to the "Player Experience." Most technical companies use a trouble ticketing system, that allows a customer to report an issue, reference back to it, track the status or resolution or an explanation why they are experiencing said reported issue. If a trouble ticketing system is used properly it will increase the customer service experience. A trouble ticketing system would allow you to link similar cases and reduce the manpower required to address each individually. This would also give Bungie tractable data that can be used to ensure product quality and avenues for potential growth. The current Public Forum system promotes an atmosphere of cyber bullying and shaming a person because they are experiencing an issue with the gaming content. Using the Public Forum as a management tool to become informed about negative impacts to the player experiences is a fail model and counter productive. Posters also have information and sites such as youtube, twitter, and facebook linked in many posts. This information also allows that player/poster to be tracked outside of the gaming and forum atmosphere. The potential of this escalating out of hand is real. The current methodology is unarguably inadequate. I would also opin seeking legal counsel on the possibility of being culpable if any malice were to happen due to this kind of conduct and abuse. Realize just muting an abusive person, doesn't take back the act of the abuse that had already occurred. Modifying or removing the content is a reactive step, a trouble ticketing system would be a proactive step. Some aspects are meant for a public debate via a forum, reporting an issue in gameplay is not one of those events. Reporting a bug has the direct audience intent of Bungie, not the endless pundits and negative atmosphere they provide. It is, in my opinion, the intent of the end user to contact the service provider. Salty comments, on content posted causes players/posters like myself to return the candor. Lastly, I'm trying to help you better the product. The current public forum is an impediment in that process, I would recommend implementing a trouble ticketing system to resolve future abuses of this nature. Thanks Again, and ready for year 2!

To start off, and with no intention of disrespect of course, this is the type of post you are likely to stir up controversy with. I'm happy you posted it in #Help, even though it doesn't necessarily belong here as Vexed mentioned. Like any aspect of internet interaction, it is very easy to remain anonymous and create a façade. With that being said, people may say or do certain things that is completely out of their actual nature. Anything you read on the internet should not be taken to heart, because again, everything is anonymous and any negative thoughts you are creating for yourself due to what somebody else says, are created by YOU. What you continue to mention is not just found on certain parts of the bungie.net forum. You will always find that patch of bad apples in the tree anywhere you go - especially online. How you choose to respond and react in your own mind is controlled by the user. I'm not justifying the course of anybodies actions and to an extent I agree with you. Extremely nasty people are dealt with accordingly. Most bug reports, help issues, and technical difficulties are solved in this help forum. Players are free to ask anything they'd like, as long as they seek a genuine answer about something related to Bungie. You will never feel unwelcomed or disregarded in #Help, unless you choose to react out of nature, simply because it's an online forum.
