cant play

alright bungie. i have been trying to download the patch since the reset and i kept getting the oyster error code. i was advised to reinstall my content. i deleted everything destiny from my xbox 360 and went through the reinstall process. everything downloaded but the recent patch, and i keep getting stuck while its transfering content. it will get to 35% and the screen will go black. i pushed a and get black screen the the loading indicator in the lower right of the screen. i let it sit like that for about 6 hours hoping it was still downloading. when i came back i was logged out of xbox live. i logged back in and started destiny and it had to transfer content again and the new patch was still not downloaded.once again at 35%, black screen. i have been at this for 2 days all because the patch wouldn't download. please help

  • I found a solution. ..I tethered my phones Internet connection to my laptop...plugged my xbox ethernet cable into my laptop and shared the laptop connection...connected to xbox live and the update downloaded the first try...you could also just take your xbox to someone else's house and use there internet...I imagine that would work as well

I have this very same problem. Furthermore, I have the issue where Destiny fails to 'Verify Content' properly and invokes an update--every time I sign in! I've tried a number of thing to resolve this. In fact, I'm an IT professional; I know well what I am doing. I've even used a packet sniffer to inspect the traffic going to my Xbox during this transaction. I strongly believe at this point that Bungie needs to take a closer look at this. My suspicion is that in an attempt to harden Destiny, they've broken the system for a great many people. Prima facie within these very forums is the evidence. I've been experiencing this problem since March of 2015! This behavior was introduced with an update. My big question now is: What's being done to address this? If nothing is genuinely being done to fix this, then I have to ask myself: Should I continue to patron a company that punishes a great many to control a few? I am not pleased. Moreover, I can't imagine buying any further into Destiny--or any Bungie game for that matter--with problems like this outstanding.
