I have this very same problem. Furthermore, I have the issue where Destiny fails to 'Verify Content' properly and invokes an update--every time I sign in! I've tried a number of thing to resolve this. In fact, I'm an IT professional; I know well what I am doing. I've even used a packet sniffer to inspect the traffic going to my Xbox during this transaction. I strongly believe at this point that Bungie needs to take a closer look at this. My suspicion is that in an attempt to harden Destiny, they've broken the system for a great many people. Prima facie within these very forums is the evidence. I've been experiencing this problem since March of 2015! This behavior was introduced with an update. My big question now is: What's being done to address this? If nothing is genuinely being done to fix this, then I have to ask myself: Should I continue to patron a company that punishes a great many to control a few? I am not pleased. Moreover, I can't imagine buying any further into Destiny--or any Bungie game for that matter--with problems like this outstanding.

  • I didn't have a problem until the no burn skolas patch. I haven't been able to play since. I have tried every thing I could find online.

When Xbox Live pushes an update I've never experienced a problem. However, with Bungie's manner of patching, concerning this game, I've experienced numerous problems. Chief among them is that the game erroneously invokes the update process--when the game is already at the latest version! Secondly, the update-download often fails. In fact, it will fail entirely for days at a time. Which of course means the game is unplayable for days at a time... What it looks like to me, is that Bungie may be doing something that could be characterized as tricky, or non-conventional with respect to the networking protocol(s) for patching Destiny. My suspicion is that somewhere along the way they discovered an exploit of some kind and they took measures--hasty measures perhaps--to mitigate it. In doing so, they've broken the game, inconsistently, for a great many people. The trouble is, perhaps, they don't really know how fix this--not without consequence that may amount to too much trouble. Who's to know; they're not open about really anything. Their answers within the forums would seem indicate that they deny/disown this problem entirely. What I see instead is that they supply canned-answers which essentially place blame on the consumer, their console or network. Meanwhile, Microsoft and Bungie have taken virtually every measure to control their end-user's experience ... No matter what, the game is broken for me and I'm a little tired of being abused as a consumer. This is not an isolated event.
