Why are most of you against the idea of matchmade raids? Since we already search for players on the forums, what would be so different? The way I see it, would make finding people a lot quicker since the game would search for you no?

you know how hard it is to find decent teammates just for strikes? idc either way, we don't have to use it but they can make it an option idk why nightfall and the weekly heroic doesn't have matchmaking. just lazy on Bungie's part. it took us a long time just to get voice chat so who knows if we will ever see it. they may have already gave up on this game anyway because lots of little things like vault space is completely ignored by them. if it isn't cheese good luck getting it implemented or fixed

Make it an OPTION for those who want it. Keep it like it is for those who like the current method. Win-Win
-
With matchmaking: -Afkers could join your game -27's will keep joining level 30 raids -many people wont use headsets -if you DC, no way to get back -people may join on last second just to get loot -lots of quitters
-
It's ridiculous. No matchmaking, no trading, no private lobbies, no weapon crafting, the bounties never change, no large scale public events etc etc Hopefully over time some of this stuff gets put into the game Hopefully
-
You'd get partnered up with shitties and waste your time
-
this is just personal experience obviously, but I find that simply asking "do you want to play hard VOG with us" and inviting them to the chat on the forum or in the tower constitutes a get-to-know-each-other conversation and it increases people's commitment to the task you're about to embark upon. and we all know raids and nightfalls take a team with a good commitment. I find it less emotionally troublesome to quit a strike than quitting a raid, just because the strike teammates are just game tags to me, while I can put a voice to the raid teammates. somehow that makes you more committed to the task at hand. it might be one of those human psychology thingy. I could be totally wrong of course. wouldn't be surprised if that's the case.

It's the same reason why there is not matchmaking for the Nightfall and Weekly Heroic. By either going to LFG or making friends in the game it forces people deeper into the Destiny community and increases gameplay continuity. For example, I have a solid group of about 10 different people that I have played with for several months. Some of my actual friends and some I've met in the game. If I am jumping on by myself to run some strikes or some bounties solo I always get bored faster and play less. But when I'm doing Nightfalls or raiding with my friends we tend to play significantly longer because we just enjoy talking and playing together. It's just to encourage the sense of community in Destiny.

Maybe do it at like a lower level or something, less rewards and no real raid rewards on it. Itd help people learn it.
-
U won't be able to solo it
-
Because you can't choose what randoms you get. I don't want to be with scrubs that afk and shit. I want people who I deem worthy of being in my group.
-
Trust them to play, more likely to have a mic on. I dont wanna do the raid with five people who arent using a mic.
-
I trust a person I find on LFG a lot more than someone who uses in game matchmaking. All those people who AFK or do other stupid stuff during strikes? Yeah, don't want them on a raid team.
-
Edited by Artorias: 1/21/2015 10:07:56 PMBecause you would be matched with a bunch of people who have no idea what they're doing, they wont listen and you will get annoyed. People will quit randomly and you don't want join in progress do you? No matter how you look at it, it's a really bad idea. It's not like a strike where it doesn't matter if your fireteam sucks, you actually need good players. Also there will be people with underleveled weapons and such. It would such a massive pain.
-
Because that and trading would be the dumbest thing they could do in this game
-
Because I don't want to carry a level 30 through the hard raid. End of story.
-
When recruiting off forums and LFG, I can get their weapons, rank, class, experience, stats, etc. and pick and choose who I want/need for my team. Matchmaking, you end up with "here's 5 noobs with unupgraded exotics they just bought who've never so much as watched a guide video." If they add matchmaking, it better be optional.
-
LFG is not the same as matchmaking. It is the difference between people going AFK with no mic the entire 5 minutes before yourteam gets pissed and disbands and getting someone with a mic who you've already talked to before you even enter the raid.
-
I want matchmaking so bad I'm tired of dealing with this stupid reason about afkers. If you find 4 people and one afk guy then leave with the four guys and find another match. That's it problem solved. I have found plenty of guys on this very site who went afk or didn't have a mic yea it sucks but what do you do. If they don't know what they are doing teach them we all started some where.

Look at roc strikes. No. They never will implement im raid matchmaking.

I cant really see how it would be different than what we do now.. I go to a forum, find someone looking for people for a raid.. pm them on the xbone "inv vog" and get invited to the group. I dont tell them my level or class or anything about having experience... That is honestly my biggest gripe about this game.. It is absolutely beyond retarded for me to have to go to something besides my Xbone (pc, phone, ipad) to find a group on my Xbone... This is something that should have been built into the game... All what you are suggesting would do would make finding a group 100x easier... They could put level requirements on the LFR... 26 for vog norm.. 30 for vog hard... etc.. etc.. You wouldnt have to worry about carrying people who under level the raid.. You wouldnt have to worry about people begging you to do so... My question stands... How would it be any worse than our current method of finding a group? It seems like a hands over fist better option..
