EDIT: my point is being missed. I didn't ask if a high ratio makes me a good player, I asked why, when I give an opinion about the game, a typical answer is "your kd sucks stfu you're stupid and don't matter". Pretty sure Bungie would like opinions from everyone, not just good players. Then they know how to reach a wider market. Is that not logical?
Mine sucks. Putting that out there to save everyone the time of looking up my profile, seeing it blows and posting it.
That said, apparently a high kill/death ratio means your opinions are worth more than mine because "you suck, get good n00b lulz".
So, someone explain to me when not being good at this game meant my opinion about the game doesn't matter. This should be good.

Don't worry about the cod and halo fanboys who hide in corners instead of playing objectively. Destiny objective scoring is retarded anyways. Honestly, just join them or ask them to play you in battlefield.. where kd is laughed at. Which they won't because ptfo is something they've never heard of lol. And bullet drop.
-
Yeah its dumb when people put themselves on a pedestal because of crap like this. Like a bunch of self appointed authorities.
-
Bet my bank account, house and c0ck are bigger then any k/d they have ;)
-
Because when you suck at a game you probably wont like it. If youre good at a game and complain it obviously means more because you should be enjoying it more. Duhhhhh
-
K/D does mean something but not as much as some make it out to be.
-
It just takes practice. Ive been training my friends in fps games for years. For some reason im just good. It isnt a crime to not have a good k/d. And i value everyones opinions the same. I dont know where some people get this supiority complex from....
-
The pvp in this game sucks
-
Just be thankful that it's not as bad as it was with Reach. I don't think it's possible for any Bungie game to have as much k/d obsession as Reach did.
-
If somebody had a shitty kill death ratio in the crucible they're obviously bad so when they scream "wah this is OP" it means nothing.
-
It's a glorified assortment of numbers.
-
It really doesn't matter. Some people (morons I think their called) seem to think that a prowess at video-games give them some sort of social superiority. Don't worry, at some point they'll have to step out into the wider world, where they will quickly discover exactly how far that particular skill will take them.
this post does not necessarily reflect the views of the poster, beyond the fact that he wasted his teenage years in arcades and later became a failure in the larger game of life.
K/D has never been anything. It's not about a high K/D, It's about the win or loss...For some reason you little kiddies think it's everything and don't put any emphasis on the win or loss...It's ok to have a good k/d, but the win is what matters most...That's like saying you hit 10 home runs but still lost the game; a lot of home runs but still losing won't get you into the playoffs...
-
It doesn't! Anyone that brags about there K/D and makes fun of people that aren't so great are ( I imagine ) immature kids, and if there older than 12... Gezzzzzz issues!!!
-
It doesn't really matter in strikes and other pve missions, but the only pvp mode, (control) completely hinges on which team has the greater k/d on average. Objective pushing only gets you so far if you aren't getting the kills to back it up. In some competitive game modes, it's easy to say it doesn't matter, but control isn't domination, it's team deathmatch with score multipliers. If your crucible kd is below 1 in a match, you were probably a liability to your team.
-
K/D over a 1 is important. K/d over 3 or 5 bitch get out that interceptor and capture a control point.

Dont worry about it. Its just the CoD fanboys that say stupid shit and that actually give a shit about KD
-
K/D isn't important, but the fact you let these people get to you says something about yourself.

Edited by Ewoktapus: 7/24/2014 11:31:09 PMThis game bases it's scoring off kills you get. So if you went negative, that means you gave the other team more points than you scored. So K/D does matter in this game when showing whether or not your're helping the team, or a detriment to the team. People need to stop making the excuse 'I constantly try to capture the objective is why my K/D is bad.' You aren't helping the team at all if you keep dying over and over.
-
K/D is important to some people and to others, not. What matters is, what you think? Nevermind everybody else. That's just the way the cookie crumbles.
-
K/D matters. In dead sectors kills get you points, more points if you control zones. So if you keep going below 1 you are hurting your team and are not being a team player, which is unfair to the good players.
-
If your a good objective player, feel free to die 30 times, I want you on my team.
-
The best part of the responses I'm getting is how few people actually understood what I asked. I think most didn't even read it.
-
Partly it's because you're doing something abnormal - Normally what happens is someone goes and plays 2 and a half games of the Crucible, goes to orbit and comes here to talk about how broken PVP is and how could anybody POSSIBLY like it. Those people pretty much invariably have poor k/d scores. Those people are probably ridiculed unmercifully - k/d is just an easy stat to seize on. You, on the other hand... you've played enough Crucible to get a feel for it. So there's no reason your opinion shouldn't be listened to. I think probably what happens is people just look at your k/d and not your games played and make an assumption because of how often the above post (from the first paragraph) happens.

Link the thread where majority said K/D meant nothing to them.

Edited by Infernal_jayed: 7/24/2014 11:54:40 PMIt's more like more low k/d and whining about the multiplayer sucking gets treated negatively. To an extent k/d does matter but it isn't everything. Wish they would show w/l ratio as well.
